Has anyone swapped out the HVAC controls for something more modern?

Automatic controls or just nicer knobs?

These are some parts the kit car guys use; I think they're still available:

Do you mean just using the knobs, the in-dash controller, or the entire HVAC box? I seriously doubt anyone has replaced the entire box, and I'd struggle to see why as the Fiero HVAC is actually fairly decent. The controller is a bit antiquated, I've never been a huge fan of it.

Ditto... Do you just want a prettier panel or do you want extra capability like automatic climate control?

It just looks so dated to me. If i remember correctly a 94 z24 HVAC works on vacuum and should br swappable.

Don't most GM cars use vacuum servos to operate the vent doors, while the Fiero uses electric?

Thats just it. I don't know what the fiero uses. I was hoping someone had already gone through this in a dash swap.
See that is where i am headed, to a dash swap and i don't want to reuse any of the old fiero components.

The Fiero has an electric servo.

For some of the F-body dash swaps, people have installed a new switch, attached the f-body knob, and wired it up to behave the same way as the Fiero's button controls.

As soon as I can walk I will hobble out to my garage and take the HVAC apart and then go from there. I will look at the F-Body and newer Cobalt etc GM HVAC systems available. And since this doesn't seem to be a common item for people to swap out then I may make it my project.

Cheers
