I love the look of this engine. But what is this engine do you think?

Marine application.
Giveaway is the raw water pump feeding the waterpump and the thermostat housing for the outlets to the water cooled manifolds.

HAHA it is similar to this one it says on the website. 9.1L V8 at about 1200HP. Holy crap!

The name of a marine engine company emblazoned on the top tipped me off but yeah the water pump is something.

Yeah... Mercury Marine on the top cover gave it away for me.
9.1L is 555 cid, which is a fairly normal big block Chevy size. Here's a 555 crate motor from Edelbrock:

I'm sure the Mercury engine is built extra super heavy duty for marine use.

Break-in Oil: Includes six quarts of Edelbrock Performance SAE30, #1070; NOTE: customer must add oil before start-up
You know that's there because they don't need it to happen again.

And someone spent thousands on that engine and then didn't check the oil before turning the key.

V8Archie has forgotten to put oil in a customers crate engine before test driving. I guess even gods screw up now and again
