Looking to buy a Getrag F23 with the 60-degree V6 bellhousing pattern.

Please provide validated gear ratios, or at least FDR.

I'm located in SoCal.

UPDATE: Here are the specific applications for the F23 with the 60-degree V6 bellhousing pattern:

2000-2002 Pontiac Sunfire, 2.2L OHV engine
2000-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2.2L OHV engine

You looking for strength? Ratios? Abusability? Your car?

I have a 284 and axles on the shelf.

Ratios, shift quality, durability, and availability.

The 284 has decent, probably good durability, unknown shift quality, and yours is probably the only one I'd ever find.

The real reason for the F23 is I can't put a 4.41 final from a Saturn Vue in the 284.

The Cavalier F23 + Vue F23 final drive will get me about the same performance as the 284 but with a performance 5th instead of a gear for cruising. The downsides are the 3200 RPM cruise @ 80 MPH and the 1st-2nd shift which is 100 rpm worse than the 282... but I don't use 1st gear at the track.

Also the Cavalier F23 + Vue F23 final gives me 4th gear with a 110 mph shift RPM and 126 mph at redline. That's pretty much perfect for the Buttonwillow, where I do most of my track days. The 284's 4th gear is longer (118 mph shift, 136 mph at redline).

Don't you have the 3.94 in your getrag now?

There's two in the yard here, but I don't have time or the want to go pull them off their engines. I'm sure there's several in the yards near you. If you don't want to get your hands dirty, have you tried car-part.com?

I see three within 25 miles of LA that are less than $250 and less than 100,000 miles.

I'm going to go this weekend to the local Pick Your Part and see if I can find one. I did find a few on ebay for less than $300 shipped. Mostly in Canada though.

Got one from a Sunfire.

Still need a Saturn Vue box for the short final drive though.

So will you be swapping the Sunfire 60deg housing onto the Saturn Vue transmission or will you be transferring the 4.41 final drive from the Vue into the Sunfire F23?

Probably the former, since I can use short 5th gear at Auto Club Speedway (Roval) and maybe Willow Springs.
