I already found a used dry sump pan. I emailed hilborn. I'm sure a used one would be factors of 10 cheaper.

Kinsler lists intakes for both style heads.
And there is probably a better chance of the Kinsler unit fitting without major frame rework.

I think $1200 doesn't even approach half the cost of a brand new assembly.
Sadly there was a whole Kinsler setup on ebay in June that sold for 124$.. No idea on the head that used it anyways.

Maybe I will collect beer cans for a few months (practically free), build a 3d printer for $500, print a form in plastic, build cheap furnace for $100, mix some sand and clay for $20, build a flask from scrap wood, and use 4 2.8 throttle bodies for a sub $800 ITB setup,

But, I can buy some Chinese ITB's on fleaBay for less than $700 and cut, weld. grind, repeat for less money still.

This is the only intake manifold gasket I found that "fits" the 801 head. Its a shame, since the standard SD intake gasket has rubber gasketing around the ports, they would hold up better to boost. This gasket is 1238-1, and is a trim to fit for the ports. At least I don't have to trim the ports this much. :-D

I haven't touched the car very much. Ill be grabbing my long lost tools from my Mom's garage this month as she is moving. That will give me my overhead lifting chain back, and I can actually pull the heavy parts out of the car myself.

Can't believe you found one with the SD4 that's amazing! I just picked up a nice '84 Indy Fiero but it's got the 92hp iron duke. I wanna swap out my engine but I cant find any SD4s anywhere . I'm thinking about putting an LS4 in but then it wouldn't be original. Anyways cheers bro cant wait to see your beauty on the road

Valves are 2.010 Intake, and 1.6" Exhaust
Lifters where Hydraulic Flat tappet, beside one having some rust on the cup all the sliding surfaces looked clean.
No pistons show signs of damage, but the bores are scuffed bad, and the obvious pitting on number 2 and 3.
The bore measured 4.015 with my caliper.

Ill be calling the local engine shops to see about sleeve costs.
If that's a bust, I've got a 2.8 V6 for this car.
The differential is also broken in this thing too. There is about 1/4" of play and in the axles and the spin completely independent of each other.
Luckily I have some spare Transmissions.

Are you looking for an interim engine while you build an SD4? That's about the only use I can see for a 2.8 nowadays.

If the SD4 is beyond repair, Ill probably get the car running with something available and attempt to sell it off.
If I can make the SD4 block useable for reasonable cost Ill go for it.
