engine bay grounds

Ok. So I had the car running. Changed out valve cover gaskets intake gaskets and distributor oring. Got it all back together and the battery went bad. Went got another batt and all I get is a click and no crank.
I'm going to clean all the grounds in the morning. There are two grounds I'm trying to figure where they go. One is on the fire wall and it is a braided wire ground with the end broke off I can't see where it goes.
There is another down on the slave cylinder side that is just a black wire with about a half inch ring terminal I can't see any where that one should go. Trying to find something that shows all the grounds in the engine bay.
