Sold the SRT8, lost weight, cut displacement in half

Bought a new car last summer.

Friend has a mildly bolted on 2007 335i, and I adore it. The power, the gas mileage, the steering, and the overall driving sensation is one of the best I've felt. So I sold the Jeep and went hunting. Found a 2013 335is in Iowa that had 14,000 miles and was bone stock. Except it's missing half the tool kit (a$$holes). Bought it, drove it home, and started draining my bank account. Love the 'is', to me it is the last true sports car BMW has built, and is better looking than the M235i, 135i, and other N54 essays. Would've totally chosen a 335d if they'd give me that N57 in a coupe, with a 6MT. Save the manuals! But they won't, so hippie corn juice and 91 octane gas it is. Mods:

Still to come is a M Factory LSD with the shortest ratio they offer. I'll suffer some low speed acceleration loss, but highway cruising will be much more pleasant and economical. I hate turning 3,200 rpm on the highway. That should be 2, if not 1800. Also a Stage 2 fuel pump for e85 hippie corn juice,

New mandrel bent aluminum up pipe (Intercooler to charge pipe)

Inlets, which are basically intakes. BMW uses small plastic pieces that wrap around each side of the enging before meeting at the airbox. These replace all that shit. It's difficult to see what's going on here I know.

Leaky elbow (Yes, it was clamped prior to running and subsequent leaking):

Not pictured are the new outlets, basically hot side charge pipes. These were attained at a significant discount since I did a before/after dyno, which is here.

So, bolt on mods. Fuel pump, intakes, charge pipes, FMIC, and downpipes turn a 300whp car to 470whp/512wtq at 19pai. The turbos will go up to 28, but I don't want to push them that hard.

Looks great!

1. Is that your barn?
2. Wear clean pants when sitting on those seats.

Nope, friend's barn I visit on occasion, and that's where we did the work.

Not that it's any better, but the dirty pants pic was taken inside his 335i, which isn't very nice. As soon as he's out of med school he's either going to rebuild the car, or buy another.

Thanks!

Love the wheels!

Buy it and mod it. Good mentality.

Also, damn, you only have one non-BMW now!

That car is a great sleeper. I know people assume BMWs are fast, but not 500hp fast. Nice car!
