rapid prototyping/3d printing
anyone on here have access to and use a 3d printer on a regular basis? a couple of friends of mine are talking about going in on one, and I was wondering what we should look out for.

Re: rapid prototyping/3d printing
My sister and her husband have one, recently bought it. Paid $1,000, but that's all I know.
They printed (Can it even be called that?) a chess set and the pieces turned out pretty incredible, and my sister said they feel like a hard plastic so no durability issues that she could see.
I know it's not much info, but they're pretty happy with it.
