Well... it is an Evinrude 2 stroke V8.
Judging the by the position of the throttles in the second video, it's supercharged.

sure is, not many other 2 stroke V8's out there that I am aware of.

most likely not, the carbs on the evinrudes are normally mounted on the opposite side of the crankshaft from the heads, probably just the easiest way to make it work.

Heh... yeah, I guess that is how two strokes have to be packaged.
