Did a 4th gear pull and saw my boost gauge hit 17 lbs. I wasn't dataloggging so not sure if I was actually at 17 or if the gauge was just reading high

I have been mulling it over for about a month now if I want to take it back to the Dyno and do a 20 lb tune. I am leaning towards doing it.

If you can keep enough octane in the tank...

Small update that noone will care about. I was able to confirm that my boost gauge is reading about 3 lbs too high. My buddy noticed it it hitting 17 lbs as well.

So I took a datalog and I saw the gauge around 15-16 at 4100 rpm but the map was reading mid 13s.

I made the switch to e85 and did some tuning today. Got it dialed in cruising and at wot up to about 4800 rpm. I ended up multiplying my pump 93 VE tune by 1.30. My ego correction was within 1-2%. Lol. Piece of cake.

This is still the stock factory longblock 3900.

Ebc. Gonna try and ramp more boost in after 5k rpm to maintain tq.

Crude mounting. I plan to wire it so that the ebc only is capable of working when the intercooler pump is on. It's somewhat of a safety mechanism.

having owned a number of turbocharged vehicles and always wondering how much a difference something like that would make I'll definitely be curious to see before and after.

Well it works. 22% dusty cycle added 1.5 lbs more boooooost. I gotta play with it more. It needs to be done on a Dyno however.

Upgrading fuel system. Using a fore filter rated for e85 instead of a stock replacement paper filter

Fyi the fore filter fits in the stock fiero bracket.

I've never heard of Fore, looks like a nice piece. I will be using a Fuel lab filter on mine when I get around to making the fuel system better.

Well. It's Dyno ready pretty much on e85. I'm out of injector though which was expected.

Pulse width is actually rising slightly as you approach redline, so I suppose that torque is either constant or slightly rising.

Does that give you the feeling of driving a sports car, vs. a minivan that runs out of breath up top?

Pulse width keeps rising but power is still falling off. The stock cam kills power after 5500 rpm.

Which is why I am working on dialing in my duty cycle of the ebc so I can lessen that hard fall off up top.

Id love it if I had the same tq at 6k rpm as I did at 4500. On the 93 octane dyno, power fell off about 50 hp by 6200 rpm from peak

I have installed ID 1050 injectors as I had an injector stick wide open on the number 4 cylinder. Fuel was pouring out of the exhaust every time I revd it.i planned to just enjoy it for a bit on the 80lb injectors but with the injector going bad pushed up my time table.

I have just started it and idled it with the 1050s but that's as far as I have gotten so far.

If you stick a sparkplug in the exhaust with fuel coming out the exhaust, you could have budget anti-lag 8)

Gotta fire my install guy. Pump came off the pickup tube leaving me stranded. Good thing I was in the garage though when it happened, so I didn't have far to get home to pull the tank.

Although I did just put 7 gallons in it which always happens when you have pump problems.

I'll have it back running tomorrow.

I

A couple of pics of logs with the ebc.

100% duty cycle up to 3900 rpm. This was on the street 4th gear

Here is the Dyno in 4th gear with much less duty cycle. Ebc does work.

So you can see that at the same 3700 rpm I have 6 more lbs of boost vs essentially no duty cycle.

Also the boost hit 20 lbs by 4k rpm with 100% DC, vs only 11 lbs on the Dyno with zero DC on the ebc

I have to play with it a bit more to dial it in where I want it.

big difference for spool up. its prob worth another 60 tq at least from 3500 to 4k rpm.

I think I am just gonna bypass all the factory fuel pump wiring, and hotwire the pump with a 12 gauge, and put in a bulkhead fitting at the fuel sender and run the wires through that from erics thread. I hope that will get me another volt or two at the pump, and a bit more headroom. The injectors are good to over 650 whp with e85, if I have the pump or pumps to do it.
