Tail Light Replacements

As I type this why does this feel like a question more for old EU? Need tail lights for the '85 that I'm rebuilding. They don't have to be OE. The outer lens is cracked but the frames are fine. Thinking about just cutting off the old lenses and fabricating new and then bonding to the frames. It also got me thinking about changing them out to LED's and adding a chaser effect or similar. Any ideas?

I know I've seen ready-made LED replacements for the Notch tail lights.
