That's part #1. Hopefully I'll fill this thread up with other stuff as we make it.

This is using a new resin system that doubles as a UV protectant.

Best surface finish yet. I'm really happy with the results.

Cool!

How much does that rear fascia weigh compared to the factory piece?

what kind of vacuum system do you have? Shop vac? Roughing pump? Cryogenic vacuum diffusion pump? :la:

Along the same line, what kind of vacuum do you have to pull?

The pump is blue.

I try to pull 20 plus inches.

This deformed the mold at 12 so we backed it off to about 7. If i use the mold again, i'll make it more rigid.

I was thinking that the mold looked pretty flimsy...

Nice. Looks like it's a piston pump? I've got a 2 stage rotary pump about the same size that pulls down to 0.5 micron. It WILL suck a golf ball through a garden hose, or the fillings out of your teeth. But it's also got some kind of internal oil leak, so after about 10 minutes of running, it hydrolocks, then you gotta disassemble it. Piece o' shit, but I got it for free, so I can't complain.

btw, it's got 10,000:1 compression. How do you like them apples? :salute:
