Pics and vid from Olympus Rally, May 19-21

Post by Chase Race »

Since I am one half emperor of this section, I hereby declare that it is ok to post anything racing related in here, regardless of whether it involves any Fieros. Because it we wait for Fiero racing news we'll be waiting a while. Yes, I realize I am guilty here, too.

Anyway, here's some video from the Olympus Rally last weekend: http://www.subiegal.com/rallyteamnews/r ... 0crash.mpg

It's a 14.5 MB download, and it's worth it.

Since I expect Jamie will use up a lot of bandwidth hosting this video, you should at least go to her site and check it out. She has some good pics from the weekend, and she's cute so you can all check out pictures of her, too.

My pics are here: http://www.chaserace.com/photo/photo.html

In other news, Chase Race has a new client:

You don't take chunks out of your dipstick to save weight? :thumbleft:

i saw no chunks - i thought that one notch was normal - I thought it was showing off tiny metal flakes in the oil

After the stage the engine was rattling as it idled. After a couple minutes it siezed. Can't turn the crank now.

You can edit the sticky at the top of this section or delete it and make your own. I don't think JM is doing much moderating here.

I wish to hell there was some kind of amateur rally league around here. I love rally races (only ever seen on TV), and I freaking LOVE ripping up winding dirt roads.

It's quite possible there is, at least if you define "around here" as "within a few hours drive." Where are you?

Rocky Mountain Rally is going on right now in Alberta. http://www.bishop.ab.ca/CSCC/rocky/2006/index.htm There are quite a few events in BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec over the course of the year. Check out http://www.carsrally.ca/ and look through the calendars.

I figured out what's wrong with the motor:

Ouch.... How did it happen? I thought those engines were fairly bulletproof?
