We need a thread like this, any prayers of getting a sticky? How about members post, or PM, their times AND SLIPS to me and I'll edit this and add them? I'll start :thumbleft:

Thats pretty fast for a 300hp motor and not trying. Got a timeslip? Any pictures of your car?

You must assume my engine is stock. It is not. I will post more when I get time to find where to store pics. I have never posted pics before, Old Europe, here or anywhere.

If you're trapping 113, you've probably got about 320 HP at the ground.

That's a pretty slow ET for that trap, though, especially considering the 1.88 short time.

Try www.photobucket.com its an easy to use picture hosting site. Also, www.imageshack.us is also easy and you don't have to sign up.

I would like to see a mod list, sounds interesting. I had an LT1 iron head engine, I bought Aluminum heads and an LT4 hot cam but never got around to installing the motor into my fiero.

I hope this works.
I was mistaken, the slightly lower ET was 111.87 trap. I got spanked by a Grand National with a cage and 6pt. harness.
I was leaving at 1500 and shifting around 57-5800, my rev limiter is at 6200.

Mods: GM Hotcam, GM 1.6 rollers, my head port and match, 52mm TB, 4" intake, stand alone EFI, CC90s' with my custom collectors and I built a complete mandrel exhaust w/ dual 2.5" cats, crossflow muff, and resonators. And this is through 1.5" primaries and a CF clutch.
~3200lb w/ driver.

I hope this answers your questions.
I would like to see more 1/4 mile slips from others.

Nice dude. Good times. Those mods really wake up the Lt1. Also your exh really helps it to breath unlike someone else who puts that motor in.

You tune the computer yourself or you take it to a tuner to tune the standalone?

I think I saw your car last year at the Fort Wayne show. Maroon?

Ok, I'll bite: 15.224 with the old 4.9, Izusu 5 speed, 86 SE, weight with driver 2940 lbs. Not my quickest time, but can't find that slip - and yes I got spanked by a SRT4 (was there any doubt) - sorry about the image, I hate it when I get the yellow slip:

'87 DOHC 10.79 @ 148 but the wind blew away my time slip

but seriously IF i ever get it running right I am gonna take it to the track, then take it again when i get all the turbo sutff put on. Probably run like 10# at the track. I have a spare engine in my garage so for shits and giggles i might try to do like 15# or so once...

With my 3.4 DOHC before the cams and 96/97 intake I ran a:

60': 2.054 (shitty, I know)
1/8: 8.881 @ 79.49
1/4: 13.812 @98.71

That was opening day at the track so it was busy as fuck and I couldn't launch worth a damn because the track wasn't being maintained well enough. But that is still damn close to a 13.7!

Wow, my 2.8 can hang with your 3400TDC. My best time so far was 15.3 @ 87 MPH.

Image

I guess it helps to be a mile closer to sea level. :thumbleft:

BTW, I'm using a modified 2.8 with a FWD Getrag, on street tires.

6200 ft is about 0.8 atm.. that gives ~160 hp for his DOHC instead of the stock 200 hp. No surprise then, that a properly modded 2.8 could get a similar time at sea level. Aaron's launch also clearly sucked considering his better mph than you, with a worse ET.

I've been meaning to go back to the track since I got my car back together, but LACR closed and Fontana is open like once a month.. so there are no more drag strips to go to in Los Angeles County. WTF.

1990 Skyline GTR. Basically stock, running stock boost (0.65bar or around 9psi) I think I had intake pods and a catback exhaust. Still running a cat.

This year I hope to be in the 12s with a boost controller set to 14psi, decat and a new downpipe.

The purpose of the car isn't really straight line speed but I think it's impressive for a basically stock 1990 car. That kind of performance wasn't common back then like it seems to be nowadays.

I only went once with my Quad 4, and I had a crap start (spun then bogged), then hit the limiter on 2nd gear. MY 60' was like 2.4.

Time was 15.8XX at 89MPH. I will see if I can find the slip. Best ET was 90MPH.

Stock 91 Quad 4 HO with a worn out Getrag 5 speed. About 2800-2900Lbs with me.
