Just bought a new couch and tons of christmas stuff. Then my water pump pulley walks off the shaft. YEAH. and because I have no place to do it, I have to pay someone to replace my water pump.
This will be my first shop bill in 8 years. BOOOOOO.
How much is this gonna cost. $200, $300, closest to the real ammount wins nothing.
I'm screwed

I am guessing when you say you have no place to work on it it is because it is just too damn cold out now to do it outside? Or is it because of where you live and don't allow you working on cars in the parking lot?
Because a waterpump shuodnt' take but a few hours or less
What you can try to do is get a space heater, and make like a little tent or wind breaker around the area you are working in and wear warm clothes.

Wow, the pump is as cheap as 14 bucks. Makes me real glad I welded the pulley on this one.
The story behind the problem. It was crunch time. Baby came, needed the motor back in my car, so around school time, I was slapping this project together. My NEW WP I had did not have the right pulley????? musta been for a s-ten. So I grab the pulley off my old old pump, and press it onto the shaft of the pump that came with the motor (original gm part) Install the engine and fire it up. Pulley walks off the motor. with the motor in the car I put it back on, and then Tack weld it so It wont move.................................

Its never too cold to work outside, Im not allowed too. Apartment complex. Usually I do, but this will make a mess.

Drain the cooling system using the drain plugs at the rear ends of the coolant pipes. Then it won't make a mess.
I've changed a w/p in the dark in a cold parking lot in the middle of the night. I did it in three hours... book time is 5. Shop quoted me $450 or thereabouts, so I did it myself.
My pump didn't come with a pulley, though. You DID put the pulley bolts in, didn't you?
