I've only seen 2 before, but they both caught my eye. Cool cars but it sounds like the trani could be a problem. Good price.

Sweeet. I always wanted to play with one of those. I'd do an STi transmission swap and then go to town.

should be the same tranny as most subarus from the same time span.. its an afternoon job to replace.

th thing i never liked about them was the windows.. how are you supposed to crawl out an open window if you roll it?

Friend had one. Whisper quiet, a great ride.

Not particularly fast, and the automatic they all came with (why, oh God, WHY?) is a dog.

Manual transmission swaps HAVE been done (iirc), but are tricky.

I'd love one myself... Probably wouldn't bother doing a whole lot to it, though.

man. I love those cars. Great find. If you were closer to the east coast i'd be tempted to make you an offer.

Its too bad Subaru doesn't make any classy sporty looking cars anymore. Not like the SVX anyways. I'm not a fan of the WRX/STi look or the sedans. A good looking 2 door coupe would be nice. Throw the STi drivetrain into the SVX and I would consider buying one.

The SVXs were a pretty cool car for their time and one of the cars that got me interetsted in Subarus. My current Subaru is a Legacy GT.
I got this one after my WRX lease expired. I wanted a car that didn't attract too much attention to itself, unlike the WRX, were every pimply faced kid with a fart can in his car wanted to race me. The Legacy is pretty plain looking but goes like stink when it is needed. It also is my 5th Subaru.

Here are some more pics. The car is very torquey and gets up and goes for a car with a slipping tranny. Reverse does not even work but the guy I bought the car form knows where one is that might have a good tranny.

The interior is all leather with a suede dash and door panles

That car looks clean as hell for 600$. I hadnt ever heard of the svx's until "kazzer" on dream car garage did a test drive of one at their local track. He mentioned that they are getting pretty hard to find.

Traded it in on a 02 outback sedan with the 3.0L H6. I was getting to many cars and decided to get rid of two of them and get something nice for the wife. I will post a pic or two if I get the chance.

My buddy is about to buy one of these things, we are going to mod it up, he wants to keep the auto though.

how much do those things weigh? I'm under the impression that you can't fit a decently wide tire in there. Good thing is those engines should be pre-redesign, as the later engines have issues with the heads. I've had to resurface hundreds of them.

No i dont have one but i have wanted one for a long time nice find dude. If your looking to go to a manual swap i have been told it can be done with a WRX transmission and a few other mods. Only problem i was told about them besides for transmission problems is parts are VERY expensive and very hard to come by. Correct me if im wrong but im 99% sure the engine in that is the same engine that is in the B9 tribea
