The A-arm is NEVER supporting the weight of the car. Only tension and compression loads from cornering. That's what txf's bone of contention is... That an arm that was not made for bending loads has bending loads imposed upon it by hillbilly engineered anti-say bar installs. I think it's a moot point and the arms are strong enough because both FWD X-bodies and FWD A-bodies use VERY similar control arms with control arm mounted anti-sway bars.
