Engine Removed!!

Post by Starlite528 »

Well I never thought I would be doing this up until last month, but today I have removed an engine from a car for the first time in my life.

I find that the intake manifold, all three pieces, are covered in oily oil oil residue buildup from probably the past 19 years. I have the infamous broken EGR tube. Not only is the tube cracked, but the gasket on the plenum side was only halfway installed, with the side of the gasket actually blocking the tube. It was also covered with silicone sealant of a gray color. Someone tried to repair it and didn't do a very good job. I'm just going to have to live with it until I can find a new tube.

Also have the infamous "tube that goes nowhere," the one that has one end in the air cleaner and the other end capped off at above the fuel tank.
