Steering Stabilizer

Would I notice any difference in the handling or steering of my car if I replaced that little shock?It looks worn,and besides its over 20 years old.Has anyone done this?It looks pretty simple. Thanks.

A lot of people just remove it for better steering feedback.

Mine is removed, I noticed a big difference in the steering with it off. I like it off.

I actually have two on my steering rack. I want less road feel when it comes to bumps in the road. I haven't really noticed any more effort steering the car neither.

Seriously though - I've had the steering wheel come close to jumping out of my hands. It's violent.

happened to me before too backing out a driveway with a nice bump up. I had the wheel turned slightly, and as I was backing up the wheels caught where it goes up about 3" and it ripped outta my hands and snapped right to the lock. Never happened actually driving though..

That's happened to me, which is what inspired me to ask about power steering.

*shrug* 88s don't even have a steering damper.. I do alright.

Have you ever driven an early car? The steering kickback can be quite violent at times.

The early knuckle has a huge steering offset compared to the '88 knuckle, so the reverse efficiency is better and kickback is much more apparent.

High offset wheels help this.
