I believe the tach filter is just a capacitor lead to ground. That should not have an effect on it.

new napa module and cap and rotor, ran perfect for 20 minutes.

then it shit the bed at an intersection while idling. How embarasing.
I put a new coil on and it fired right up. DAMN.
I will drive it some more tomorrow to see if it is the culprit.
