Gen 2 oil pan gasket

Post by Shaun41178(2) »

on 87-88 oil pans witht he updated timing cover, can you reuse the oil pan gasket?

If so any special procedures to do so?

It looks like you can, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks

I have before. I just made sure everything was clean and torqued it to original specs. Worked fine.

I think it depends on how long it's been in. If it's fairly new, then reuse it. If not, I'd replace it.
