That could very well be it, although Doug said it felt like every other 2.8l he drove, and the one I raced at our little CO meet I was side by side with.

ITSA6, you are correct here, my Fiero would not have a problem beating my Z34 to 30-35mph, but from there on out, the Z34 pulls HARD.

Stimpy, please dude, drop it. You are doing no good here. fyi when I first picked up my Fiero, I went with a friend who drove my red Z34. He drives every one of my cars on a normal basis, and can race them almost as good as I can(Specifically getting the 3400lb DOHC off the line). Anyways, on the 2 hour drive home, I probably had that Fiero floored 60% of the time racing him. We did runs from 30, 40, 60, and from 80. We also went off the line 3 times. Each time, we both went into 2nd, and it instantly started pulling hard.

And after driving the Z34 minutes after the Fiero, the higher power levels are obvious, at any rpm.

didnt you say you got the car home from halfway across the country? Sounds like a good idea to beat the piss out of it on the first time out. GOOD JOB!

Well, he drove the car from Washington to Colorado by choice, but he wouldn't have had I not been buying it, so I got it from halfway across the country.

Hey, its my car, I'll floor it if I want to. So its better to floor it after owning it for a week? I bought the car, I wanted to see what everyone was complaining about, damn strait I drive it hard. But I had checked the oil, I watched the water and temp guage, everything was good.

OK, let's pretend for a moment that your blabbing means something, let's decode it.

A. You have, in your words a Lumina that runs in your estimation, low 15s, and really comes alive over 60.

B. You have an 88 Fiero. Yep, we all know that. Have a cookie. Apparently you have a hard time believing it can be any better then a 17 second dog because your Lumina is so damn fast.

Am I getting this right? I mean, what exactly was the point of your reply to the thread about Fiero quarter mile times then to talk about your bad ass Lumina. I don't recall anyone giving a flying fuck about your land yacht. Well, at least I sure don't. I shouldn't speak for the rest of the class.

It isn't that the Z34 is much stronger at 60 than it is at 30, it is that the Fiero is much weaker at 60 than it is at 30. The Fiero is actually really quick through first and second, but just doesn't keep pulling like the Z34 does.

Not at all. I just find it hard to believe a V6 Fiero can break into the 15s based upon how hard my Z34 pulls on the Fiero.

My Lumina isn't badass. I never said that. Yes, it can rape the Fiero, we all should know this. I was using the Z34 to compare it to the Fiero, and compare trap times, considering it is common knowledge the Z34s run 15.1-.2s. Sorry, wasn't trying to push my Z34. Why would I? I think its obvious by the fact that I bought the Fiero, and sold the Z34 for the Fiero, that I liek the Fiero better

Actually I believe I said that it's about average for the 2.8l Fieros I've driven. I've driven stock Fiero 2.8s that were both faster and slower than that one. I agree with Kohburn.

Sorry, that is what I meant.

There isn't anything wrong with it IMHO, it isn't like I care. If it was noticably behind or lacking in power, then I'd worry about it, but it moves alright and doesn't lack power enough to make me want to do anything about it. Plus, I have a CAI, so that added like 15hp.

I assume you are joking about the CAI?

I have driven a few different boat anchors over the past few months and all of them feel different but then again these cars are fairly old and all of them have there own little problems. I don't have an exact number but I am sure my car could do the quarter mile in and arond the 16 mark.

I've come across some Z34's and other DOHC's in my truck, I don't find them to be overly quick but I guess comparing that little 6 to a V-8 isn't exactly going to be accurate.
