It's not that the paint is or isn't good. It's just that the technology at that time was like baking a clay pot. You don't just sand it off and apply new paint, you have to smother it in love and sweat to get the old cracking clay pot off.

Also, why do you need an autozone tachometer with a pushrod Chevy V6? No hate.

Re: Project Stupid Ferrari (Formerly: Another Awesome V8 swa
Well, being steel bodied will be better for removing the paint, although harder to seal to prevent rust. That's going to be a big job for you or whoever tackles it. I did a little reading this morning about the crazing, seems like the paint Ferrari used is very "hard" and a bitch to remove...

Hope that applies to the interior too. What a mess. I'm positive the new wheel looks better than whatever was on there before.CincinnatiFiero wrote:I am going to take it somewhat back to stock aesthetically

Re: turn signals quit working
When you say you swapped the "relay", you mean the little round flasher, ya? The flasher for the signals is under the steering wheel attached to the kick panel. The flasher for the hazard is under the right side of the dashboard by the blue dingy box. The hazards and flashers use a differe...

Re: 2.8 turbo dyno
I've read all of that already, and there's no definitive way to get all of the BMW stuff talking to the GM computers, or use the stock computer to control the LS. My sunroof in the E39 has more feedback than most GM body control modules. All of this adds up to a really well built vehicle with comple...

Re: 2.8 turbo dyno
Which can be disabled at the touch of a button. The traction control on my E39 and E64 is godly. Turns a RWD car into FWD in the snow and ice. One button and back to the basics. I'd consider an LS swap if it didn't mean losing all of the standard BMW logic.

That is the most annoying blowoff valve. Props to you for hazarding when the mustang span. Looks like a fun day.
