Engineering contractor with Naval Research Lab. Have to wait for the contracting outfit to find out if they won the contract or not. Should find out this week.

C5's lighter than GTO, used is cheaper than new, and GTO's just don't get chicks wet the way Vette's do.

Fiero just isnt the cheapest or easiest way to go fast. For what it is, it is impressive, but it cannot compete with modern cars without some serious modification. Exactly... the primary selling point of a Fiero, IMNSHO, is the mid-mounted engine. It's a cheap way to get into a mid-engine car, and ...

If the job offer I've accepted comes through, I'm gonna find a ragged out C5 and geta loan for the cost of the car plus 5-6 grand. I can bolt together a 500 RWHP all motor ride that ought to crack tens for that. Will I have out grown the Fiero at that point? I hope not. I like to tinker with it. If ...

Thinking about it some more... the thickness of a custom copper head gasket could also be used as a tool to fine tune quench characteristics...

You'll probably have to give them the dimensions I spelled out above. You may have to send them a sample from which to work and spell out what changes you need made to it. I'm going with flat tops because they're cheaper and I'll just live with whatever the compression ends up being, since it's goin...

The block deck height is 224mm (8.818"). The 2.8 crank throw is 76mm/2 (1.496"). With a 6" rod, that would require a compression height of 1.322" (not stock) in order to achieve a zero deck piston. With an overbore to 93mm, a chamber volume of 54cc's, for the sake of argument an ...

could increase it. It's not just the arc of the tire rod... It's how that arc interacts with the arc of the hub carrier.

From SPEC, the lightweight option is a billet rather than cast pressure plate (the plate itself--the cover is still stamped steel).

They also sell an aluminum flywheel for the V6.

The stock V6 fylwheel is about 14#. That's not very heavy as flywheels go.

Just read an article on the tC in some car mag. It has a 4AZ-FE engine--2.4 litre 4 cylinder with 160 HP. That makes it sound pretty darn low cammed, which would make it great for turbo use.

but even so I have thought this for some time but never really had the need to do it. Howard gave the idea of grindign away the "quench" area which I thought was pretty nifty. I dont' think it will make that big of a difference really. Flat top pistons and all. It will give a few more cc'...

Thanks. Oh yeah... how far out on the sides of the chamber can you go? Hogging the chamber out to the left and right in the picture might pay dividends for unshrouding the valves (that is, if there's room there and you don't end up with a chamber that's bigger than the bore...) I see that you carved...
