Playing with chambers can get finicky. There's not likely to be much you can do to screw up the chambers in the iron heads, though... For example... remember that Tim Allen wanted to start a line of Caddy speed parts? His shop got to porting the N* heads, and they got the flow numbers up on the benc...

Well, the reason for an aftermarket ECU would be because the stock computer can't handle anymore than the normal W41 cams. How much you want for the turbo? The stock COMPUTER can handle anything you can build. It's the stock CALIBRATION that doesn't like mods. Q4 ECM's have been hacked pretty well....

Assuming you know what A/R is... large A/R flows a lot of air through a large housing close to the CL of the turbine wheel. Thus, you need a lot of air to generate torque and spool the turbo. Small A/R flows less air, but at a greater distance from the CL of the turbine wheel. Not as much air is nee...

I am not sure if the bellhousings will transfer over or not from one tranny to the other but I would guess they don't. otherwise people would swap bellhousings of the 3.94 trannies to fit a Fiero engien bolt pattern. The bellhousings are swappable on teh 282, as long as the diff carrier bearing pre...

I hadn't been following very closely because I don't get Speed here. :salute: Adelphia... A 2.4 V8 is just a 3.0 V10 with two cylinders lopped off. I think that F1 is over-regulated. F1, IMO, is about the best technology. If they can get the same specific output out of an engine that lasts 3x longer...

I might as well go... I think I've had more Fieros than anyone else here so far. I bought my first one when I was in college (umm... Junior year, maybe? I think it was summer of '99). It was an original blue '87 GT with 175K on it. I paid too much and prolly shouldn't have bought that car, but I was...

I have the 5x115 conversion rear, which gives me 10.5x1 rotors and larger piston calipers (although no hand brake... looking into that). What I'm talking about is for the front. It uses 11.25" LeBaron rotors. These already have the 5x100 pattern. Normally, people use 3rd Gen Camaro calipers, bu...

Mostly for the hell of it...

A 3.1 TDC with flat tops would have a compression ratio of about 8.5:1 and a rod ratio of 2:1 along with accompanying detonation resistance...

I was just thinking that I want to build a 3.1 TDC, so I'd need flat tops, which would be crazy for the rest of you, especially those using aluminum heads... I guess we'll each have to get our own pistons... 262 would use standard Chevy ring pack, though... but it would have to have 4 valve reliefs ...

oughta be able to get 2.8 DIS crank (or whole freakin' engine) pretty cheap... How much would custom pistons cost? What brand do people normally get? Since we'll be using SBC rods, we could get Chevy 262 pistons, which have a bore similar to that of the 3.4... just raise the pin... Again split 3 set...

Either of you have contact info for him? PM or email me. Thanks. I found my camera today. Figures the pics were already posted, though. I don't think it has different head bolt locations... Are those heads bolted down to your head rack? If not, pull em off and snap a couple of your deck surface and ...

Dunno if I should tell you guys this before I have the block in my hands... I was thinking of buying JM's prototype aluminum block. It supposedly has a removable valley tray like the 4point9's. With that removed, it should be possible to machine up a piece to replace it and supply oil to the DOHC he...

Mine are the 4340 H-beams, too...

$350 a set sounds pretty reasonable. Im currently tearing down a TDC to rebuild as a 3.1. I could be down for a set at that price in a couple of months.
