Yeah, it's very hard to come by. The Impulse and Spectrum use the same turbo, but is much smaller versions. They will bolt up, but they are tiny. I have tried several IHI dealers that cannot get that turbo even though I have the part numbers. Design One seems to be the only place to get that turbo, ...

Will, do you happen to have those links you gave me a while back for the ECM hacking/chip burning? Hopefully someone will chime in and know how to use it. I remember it being able to let you fine tune eveything via laptop, then once you get everything right, burn the chip. And the motor is in the ca...

Sell or continue L44 turbo?
I am wondering if I should give up on this or continue the build. -GM crate short block 88, new -Heads checked (no milling required) with mild porting -SI stainless valves -SI bronze guides -Crower springs/offset retainers -Crower turbo grind cam -Fidanaza aluminum flywheel -double roller chain, HI-...

Mostly what I am worried about is the 88. It has been about 6 years since I made it a fastback (originally a Coupe) but I am pretty sure all I did was plug in the fastback harness and everything was fine. Now I plug in the notchy (from an 85) harness all this happens. I discovered the fan goes off i...

Damn tail light wire harnesses!
Right now I am swapping a fastback and a notchback (swapping them between Fieros). The now fasty is an 85. It only lights up the yellow lights when I hit the brakes (actually one yellow on the left and both on the right, might be a blown bulb, might not). The now notchy is an 88 coupe with a V6 (use...

How long did you run it before the wrap? If it was driven before the wrap was put on and it didn't smoke, that's very strange. What is the condition of the turbo? Is the length of drain hose routing the oil forward (like if you were accelerating, will the oil fight againt the pull of the car... not ...

Koni coilovers from an 85 onto an 88?
Right now my 85GT has coilovers on the back. I'm thinking about using them on my 88. Will they work on the 88 just like they are on the 85?

I disagree about the D1 kits. Mine seems to do fine running 12 psi. The only problem I had was a little pinging on very hot days. I think that happened mostly because I had no IC and it was about 95 degrees. My A/F meter always shows a tad rich under boost. I agree the tuning is not perfect and it's...
