I left the inner area alone, Well I milled it down until it had enough surface area to support the bolt circle/crank mounting area. I took most of the weight from the outside where I felt it would be most beneficial.

I will try and get some pictures.

uhm, thanks will.

It still has an over all surface thickness of .500" and all the corners have been radiused to relieve any stress risers that might have occured from stress risers.

NORTHSTAR/88 Fiero flywheel

I have two flywheels I modded for use with my Northstar. What I did was resurfaced the face and went on the back side and machined about 3.5 pounds of material from the backside 14.6lbs before 11.3 after. I had to machine the backside of the flywheel down where it meets the crank, because the Norths...

I was gonna redo the UHMW ones so that the inner portion had a shoulder on both sides, and was .002 bigger than the UHMW when assembled. That way there wouldnt be any measureable side to side play, and you can tighten them all the way down with no side effects, unless you go overboard.

Wow, Well, in my defense I havent sold any to anybody even though many people have asked to buy them. I have redesigned them to have needle bearings however. But, Like stated several times throughout this thread they were complete overkill. My objective was to make a bushing that didnt have any play...

I know it is now, but there were several companies I was dealing with that would somehow lock the ecm so it wasnt tuneable, and then try to sell you their own brand of software for an outrageous price. Try arizona speed and marine. They tried to get me out the door at darn near 1800.oo dollars. Stil...

I found a guy that sold me the MEFI unlocked so I can tune it. He also sold me all the connectors, and pointed me to a guy that has a cable and the software to tune it.

No, NO, No, thats not what I meant. I mean it took premium on the eralier motors to make 300hp, but the late ones make that on regular. With this I think they have more potential.

When I first saw you started your build I called CHRFAB to see what they had because I had a 2000 northstar at the time. They told me about the MEFI but they said it wasnt tuneable, so they stopped carrying it. I dunno man, its something about that 2000+ motor making the smae power on lower octane g...
