Why are you posting? Seriously, we already discussed why it is, we are having a technical discussion, in the Technical forum, about the weight comparison between the 2.8l OHV V6 that came factory in a Fiero and a 3.4l DOHC that came equipped in select GM W-bodies. And I just figured that a technical...

Hahaha, I actually don't know what it is. I normally just bullshit for the shipping weight. If they think its reasonable, they are cool. I used 328lbs for my crate motor, but that was just a guess that wouldn't cause suspicion. However I will weigh my car after the swap. Before it cranked the scale ...

Hahaha.

I use http://www.freightquote.com. They normaly end up being pretty cheap, plus great service and a wide assortment of drop off locations.

He says he won't ship, but I'm sure you could convince him. With the company I use, you pay shipping, email him the bill of lading, he drops it off at a terminal. Pretty easy!

New Vettes have 500 horsepower harnessed in a magnesium cradle with titanium rods and valves. They win.

I felt it was a little low on horsepower, I don't know how people think that could keep up with a 3.4 if that is how they all look

11.1:1 WOT AFR is pretty normal for a stock chip. I have a dyno chart showing 10.7:1 on a stock Peice of shit at WOT. I guess they were thinking better safe than sorry, afterall there's no knock sensor on these babies. Could be, but the 3.4l DOHC hits an a:f right at 13:1, from start to finish. But...

I guess I could call myself a racer, but it is more low key. I go to the drag strips for the test/tune nights, and love it. Once my Fiero is done with the swa, I hope to go to a lot of T/T nights, and the Pontiac shootouts, those kind of things, where they have classes, like V6 N/A, FI V6, etc. But ...

Well the original post was about a pushrod motor so where destroking a dohc 3 .4 may not make much sense, a pushrod 3. 4 might if the goal is high revs. I agree, that would help the pushrod motor go up higher. But I doubt you will get a 3.4 OHV to rev to 7000, making power the whole way, without so...

I know what destroking does. But I just don't see the point when with bolt ons it will already pull hard to redline, and far past that in some cases. The enigne already revs high, and can make power up there.

Now what purpose does that serve? The engine already doesn't have issues reaching 7200rpm, and with a new intake manifold and cam timing has gone to 7500rpm, and I will be revving mine to 8000. Destroking will just take away power.

I've said to hell with them all. I'm making my own composite elbow. I even got the plug to pretty much the final shape today. I need another project. :blah5: That is what I did. Here are a few pics, same basic concept, to get a LS1 75mm throttle body on. I used a 3" mandrel ebtn aluminum piece...

Wow that is some complex stuff, go for it. I was under the impression that you'd be making what is essentially 94-95 sprockets, where you still have to remove the UIm and valve covers.

Me? I'll just order cams and be done with it.
