87 Fastback L47 Chump Car/ Lemons Project.

And so the story goes: A group of collective gear heads were interested in building a competitive chump car. Half the team has been and is previously racing in a prepped e30. The car isn't terrible, but its been unreliable, doesnt make the expected power and the owner just doesn't have all his prior...

Re: What should I do with my car next?

I'm an asshole, sorry to reply so late, completely forgot. I did talk to the guy, his name is Joe Donovan BTW. He said if the baseline tune is already drivable and pretty close, he can get it done for under 150. If I can recall correctly its 100 for dynometer use plus 50 and hour, they have get it r...

Re: What should I do with my car next?

Dude, I keep forgetting that shit. So what kind of a deal can he get me? 8) I wouldn't mind going with him because he is so familar with Haltechs. The guy that would be doing the tuning from King would be able to figure it out with no problems but there is always that learning curve. I have Drill t...

Re: What should I do with my car next?

If your interested, My squad leader in the Army is the dyno tuner at CS Motorsports in Lannon, He's told me that he is intimately familiar with Haltech tuning. The shop specializes in and sponsors road race Porsches and German cars.

Build yourself some 24-26" headers to compliment that intake, and you should see the same resonance gains on the exhaust side.

Zac88GT ran phantom grip, and it caused severe wear on the differential parts. The phantom grip design is functionally identical to the EP and others I believe.

Re: To build the ultimate 3.4 DOHC: built block, turbo & etc

fieromadman wrote:Well congratulations! About time. What is the deal with the shifter?
The area around the shifter cables on the 4 speed is just two crowded with the 96+ intake, I have a new location mocked up for the shift cable, I just need to weld it in place. The select cable is OK where it sits.

Re: To build the ultimate 3.4 DOHC: built block, turbo & etc

Well based on a VE 110% at 6000rpms, with 5 psi of boost, and a duty cycle of 65%, 13.5 AFR, your BSFC is .437 at 310hp, that is 45lb/hr at each cylinder. this is from an excel file I made. I cant be sure of it's accuracy. And this weekend I placed the engine in the car. And today I got it running, ...
