Re: 99 Century LS what trans? and other questions
I'm guessing it is a Regal, the ad said Century, I went and only looked under the hood, I don't even recall the interior color. It looks like Regal on the door in the pic and like you guys, I can't find anything online for a Century with a 3800. Anyway, when I get the towing company to take it to th...

Re: 99 Century LS what trans? and other questions
Another question about the Valve cover gasket and plug wire clip recall. Is it worth having done as from what I read they only replace the left gasket and not the other, I'll be switching the valve covers around anyway and will want new gaskets in both. Is there anything else they tend to replace?

Re: 99 Century LS what trans?
Maybe it's a Regal I don't know, the Ad said Century, I looked under the hood and went for a spin, I didn't look at anything else....LOL
EDIT:
I guess maybe it is a Regal judging by the ad pic, that looks like Regal on the door.

88 L36 to L67 swap
So I picked up a 99 Regal LS with a 3800 (L36) 4 spd Auto to swap into the wife's car and I was wondering how to tell what transaxle it has so I can research building the axles and know when I send the PCM to Sinister. I tried searching on Google but didn't find a clear answer other than the 4T60E w...

Re: Batteries
Carquest has a sealed gell type battery. CARQUEST NGT Extreme AGM Batteries . I was considering one when I bought my Optima, only went with the Optima because it was on sale for half price. Think the carquest one was around 150 Canadian dollars. http://www.carquest.com/batteries/products.html About ...

Re: brake line nut
Are you sure the new Flare nut is metric? Don't know if it's just a 'around here' thing, but I have never seen a brass metric flare nut, they are always steel of some type. I have gotten and used metric flare nuts that are treaded to the end, if you look into the end of your flex hose you will see t...

Medium Red Metallic Paint code WA-9077 It's like the 87 Metallic Blue, impossible to get a good picture showing just how metallic and brilliant it is in the sun. Beautiful color http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/9853/dscf81051024x768.jpg This picture the car has a layer of dust and smudges from the b...

Re: Working towards larger rear 88 hubs....
The lower ball joint and the tie rod end are bigger on the mini van. The lower BJ looks like it can use the same 3 mounting bolts as the fiero, however, and I'm thinkin you can just thread on the correct tie rod end. A Lumina Outer tierod end will infact screw onto a Fiero inner tierod end. I've us...

Looks to be that either complete head can go on either bank, complete being with timing chain, tensior and cam sensor ( minus cams).

Re: 1999 Passat For Sale
I figure you noticed this, but did you see the motor has a timing belt, and then has timing chains on opposite ends of the motor to synchronize the cams? Kind of wacky. Going to look at a new car this afternoon. Yes, to do the timing belt you have to remove the front clip of the car, sounds like al...

Re: 1999 Passat For Sale
These are really nice driving cars. I just did the front seals and a timing belt in a customers and drove it a litte to ensure everything was good, WOW what a nice car these are, deff miles above a Jetta. I would surely roll in one of these, a well balanced car.

Re: GenII Headlight Issue
sounds like the control module is not shutting off, it's located outside the driver headlight bucket under the fender.
Also I would wiggle the headlamp switch in teh off position, sometimes teh contacts get bad / dirty and do not shut everything off.
