Have you thought about a valve system like the Corvettes use? The thought crossed my mind but then I remembered I'm a poor college student. The car is chipped already with a CAI (for whatever that's worth) and over Christmas break it will be getting a Peloquin's LSD and a better clutch. I may end u...

That Elise sounds pretty sweet. I don't know how I missed that vid. That being said, I think it will sound rather good. It will still sound like a 4cyl, and be semi-loud if that's the only sound deadner, but I think it will sound good. I wasn't trying to make it sound like something it isn't. I plan...

Spintech muffler on GTI

My GTI has a 1.8T so I guess this should go in here. So I'm looking for an exhaust. I like the way the Spintech mufflers sound on Fieros but that is all I have ever heard one on in person. I looked on YouTube and they had some videos of them on other V6s and some V8s but nothing on any 4 cylinders. ...

The VW Corrado had a wing which I believe changed angle at a preset speed. I don't know what speed though.

Are you dead set on welding it? I work at a vw shop. If you want I can check on monday what one costs. ~$97 seems expensive, I may be able to get you one for less. What year/engine passat?

I believe the 120mph speedo came in the 86GT and all V6 cars in 87/88.

Definatly a sweet ride. When you get an intake, do the Evo Motorsports one, we see some good gains with those at work.

Are you coming to Waterfest?

We can get aluminum adapter plates made for pretty much any motor. Let me know what you would want to bolt up to and I can try to get an estimate. they make dogbox gearsets for the vr tranny? No dogbox gears. Sorry. But they are in the works. Not sure on an ETA tho. VR6?!? okay, derangedsheep, what'...

VR6 tranny is an interesting option. There are readily available limited slip units from multiple manufacturers for those too. I would stay away from the 02J boxes though. They have small teeth on the syncros which tend to wear down, second will start grinding, and eventually it wont slide on the hu...

How about the side marker lights? An 88 coupe should be round molding, right? Three of mine are broken in one way or another. How are the ones on that car?

If you have one, hook up a vacuum gauge and keep the RPMs low and vacuum high. I used the boost gauge in my GTI that way and got 33 around town. You kind of have to drive like a grandma, but its not so bad.

88 notch would have round side moulding, yes? I need all 4 marker lights for my 87GT. Do you still have them and are any damaged?

I would look into replacing the coolant temp sensor. I picked up maybe 2 or 3 MPG when I replaced mine. Its worth a shot, theyre cheap enough.
