Re: Thermostat controlled engine oil cooler.

That's exactly what I was thinking of!

Anybody know of a reason why I couldn't/shouldn't use this style oil cooler?

Re: Thermostat controlled engine oil cooler.

The 3.4 DOHC has an oil cooler that's backed by coolant, right? Like an oil filter adapter/extension?

I imagine I could run that setup on the Duke since it takes the same oil filters with the same base (10111/3387/PF47 and 24011/3980/PF52 in Purolator/Fram/AC-speak)

Re: Iron Duke Question

The 86 does appear to be the casting year. I've had '767 casting heads that have read, 84, 85, and 86. I was looking at one last week that read 85 that came out of an 85 motor. It's entirely possible that the head is newer than the rest of the engine. To tell if you've got a 85-86 block, you can loo...

Thermostat controlled engine oil cooler.

Anybody got any recommendations or favorites? Any experiences you'd care to share before I drop the coin?

I wouldn't mind having an engine oil heat exchanger that's oil/water like the one in my Crown Vic cop car.

Thoughts?

Re: Mounting magnetic wheel speed pickups? Doug Chase?

Jinxmutt, you have a good idea there, and its actually what's suggested in the manual, but I don't want to buy more magnets for every set of wheels I might run on it, and I don't want to have to re-adjust the sensor for each set of wheels (14s, 15s, etc) Will, yes its a Fiero, 1985 so 84-87 style kn...

Mounting magnetic wheel speed pickups? Doug Chase?

I know this is the sort of thing Doug's done before. I'm mounting an Alfa Elite into my Fiero coupe, for an upcoming event. Has anyone mounted a small Hall-type pickup to point somewhere on the front rotors? Any pics are a plus. I'm brainstorming how I'd like to do this. In a nutshell, I have to mak...
