Back to the Drawing Board - Dual Runner Intake for L32 (3.4)

Well after months of trying to build an intake for this motor that sits lonely in my garage I think I have finally come to the conclusion of what I am going to do. I bought an Edlebrock lower intake manifold originally and was going to fabricate injector bosses into the runners to lower the restrict...

Intake Build Questions - Materials

Couple questions for you guys. When bending aluminum tubes for intake runners, can this be done with a hydraulic bender without flattening the tube? Can aluminum be soldered to mock up until the welds can be done properly with a tig? What is the going rate for a professional tig welder? Thanks guys

There is so huge rush Aaron. I am leaving for a business trip tommorow, and that will be the basic theme for the upcoming months so whenever seems like a good time to me.

Let Koburn finish, get it cut, let me know what you want for it and we can work from there.

HAHA

Easy now Aaron, I realize you have said it before. We keep on crossing back and forth from one tb to the other. I am just making sure that I get the right TB.

I will take it if you get the plenum, just let me know when. We will figure the rest of the details out at a later time.

Well I just got a line on one here for 100 bucks. I don't care which one I use, 2 mm isn't going to make or break my project. The question is which one would be better. Are the sensors the same on both, and are the compatible with the 52 mm 2.8 TB?

I want to try and fail at making my own intake. A dual runner for a pushrod has been the failed attemp for the last little bit, but I don't think I am going to give up just yet. I could afford a Trueleo but hate the way it looks. I want to make a good looking intake that will do the same. You don't ...

Thanks for the tip Aaron. I guess it would be hard to put an earlier TB onto the Fiero when it can't be removed.

Do you think in your situation that the N* would better suit your build? The aluminum epoxy actually looks like aluminum? I had no idea. I have never heard of or seen this stuff before. Thats pretty cool. Good luck, sounds like your intake is going to be rather amazing. I wish I had more time and sk...

Well I have numerous options for this pleum/intake modification. In the current modification I am thinking about, I would be installing a new neck on the plenum, EGR delete, TB coolant delete, increase plenum size, and increase TB. That along with some major porting and so on. I think the Caddy will...

Thanks Aaron. I did see someone on Old Europe get one to work, he bolted it upside down. I think 62mm should be good, then I won't need to port it. That will be 10mm or 1 cm (love the metric system) bigger and should give me more flow. I will be changing the plenum and runners, or at least modifying...

Compatible Throttle Bodies

Does anyone know of any larger throttle bodies that will work with the Fiero and its sensors? I have been told the J-body V6 throttle bodies will work, are there any others?

Thanks for all the excellent input guys. I guess I will have to review my plan further before I embark on this build. There is always the option of going to aluminum, but it seems the cost would be higher, and I would need someone else to do the majority of the work.

Thanks again

Intake Manifold Fibre/Resin Material???

After a long hard run with trying to develop a dual runner intake system for the Fiero I am finally going to give up and throwing away 2 months of frustration and money. I bought a SHO intake with the hopes of somehow adapting a similar system to the Fiero but the 60 degree engine (3.4) I have been ...

Good job on quiting smoking Stimpy. I have tried for more reasons than one, but I am on the road so much, smoking is my only friend, but a bad friend at that.

At 10 bucks a pack that hurts too, I guess I will quit soon, or at least try again.

Your vote would be better represented if you had more than two parties running. Canada has 4 currently, and had more in the past. But in the end they are all politicians, so I guess your screwed anyways.
