Excellent info! THe motor and trans are going to have solid mounts, so I've been debating between rubber and poly cradle mounts. The rear sway bar is going to be a must for me, with the LSD should plant the power evenly. For shocks and springs, Koni is about the only good choice out there, or even m...

Very true, but suspension is a very important key as well. Putting the power to the ground without tire hop (which can and will lead to failed parts) is what I'm looking for. I'm already eyeing up adjustable coil-overs and LSD, just not sure which one's yet. It looks like the '88s handle better, but...

That's correct. All M's now use the variable redline as does the 7s, 6s and 5s. The M3 is definitely a fun car to drive though, even with the problems it faced early on (programming, rod bearings, etc...) Put it in sport mode and it knows before you do when to rev. Too bad that engine is too long to...

Great. This means the diff carrier has to be redone. Ok, how about surface finishing, like Mikronite's? There is a good article about it in November (current) issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, page 182. Supposed to do about the same thing as cryo, but no temp change involved. http://www.mikro...

Ferrari is anything but smooth and refined. They are race motors detuned for the street. Most Ferraris you have to let warm up before you can drive them. Just like the current M3 motor. It's very cranky and hesitates until is it warm. The new M5 motor should be similiar since its a solid roller moto...

Re: Two Point Eight Intakes
That is some ugly welding. Hopefully the flow is not compromised by any slag on the inside. Other than that, it's a neat looking intake. Would probably work best with forced induction.Fiero Savvy wrote:Anyone have any good or bad comments/thoughts on these intakes for the two point eight?

any machining and or shot peening should be done b4 cryotreating. 300below is a good place as well as north west cryo. cryo is the last process, all other work should be done b4 hand. They do it by lb, so the case might as well get the treatment. That's what I was looking for. Thanks for the info! ...

Good info! Here is the two places I found on google:
http://www.cryogenicsofindiana.com/
http://www.cryoplus.com/index.html
Any experience with either?
So here is the question: What do you do first, shot peen or cryo treat? They recommend treating the entire transmission, not just the gears.

I dunno. The sound of a 118 cid Eaton ( roots or scrw type only, I don't like centrifugal) spinning to 14,000 just sends shivers sown my spine. I scared a good many people by pulling up next to their openwindow a then punching it, usually breaking the rear end loose. I know I'll take a second look a...

Yeah, the tires are going to be the weakest link (hopefully). What's a N-body and will it bolt and mount right up? Or do I stick the internals into my case? Am I going to find a company locally to bead blast and cryo or is there a reputable one out there that you know of? Sorry for all the questions...

Looks like I have to find a way to strengthen the tranny then. Anyone sell aftermarket internals? I've rebuild kits, but they seem to use stock parts. I figured when actually laching this car, it would be easier to drie it out of the hole instead of dropping the clutch. I got a lot of experience &qu...
