I was looking around last night and I Noticed that I have a lot of oil build up on my heads, near the oil fill, and on the bottom of the tranny and bottom of the engine. I'm assuming that it leaks just enough oil that it doesn't affect my normal driving. Would that sway your suspected head gasket? O...

Head Gasket or Cracked head?

Any way to tell? When I start up my car in the morning. It likes to spit out white smoke. It doesn't smell like oil, so I'm pretty sure thats not it. It's been doing this for a while. I just figured I should probably get it fixed. It also spits white / clear smoke out my passenger side rear vent, af...

I just thought of this. Would it be worth it to wait and find an 88's cradle and swap that in (with plans to swap a 3800SC or something in the future)? Will my 2point5 fit on the 88 cradle? Would I still need everything that I'm buying now? Would I need a 88 GT cradle? or would I be fine with an 88 ...

Humm... maybe my brother has one... Do you guys prefer Haynes over Chilton's? or the other way around. I have a Haynes Manual, but would it be worth it to buy a Chilton's? My brother is the mechanic of the family so I'm sure we won't have any problems that would need two manuals for (He'll probably ...

I don't think theres water in my wheel or anything for that matter. Because it did it when I got the most recent set of tires it still vibrated, just not as bad. Will a air drill? work the same as the hammer? I don't think it's my rotors either because I just replaced them about 2 or 3 months ago (a...

Suspension replacement

Well.. Now that I've gone through a set of tires in about a year... I'm looking to replace every piece of suspension that could break. I mean. The car is 22 years old. Yeah, it has 78000 miles on it so it was taken care of, but I figure if I do it all at once it will make my life a lot easier in the...

Well, it worked fine before. But my car recently over heated. Sorry, must have slipped my mind when I was typing that. I'm guessing that could be a reason that it doesn't stay on/turn on when it needs to? Will pushing that max button work if I don't have an AC belt on? (last alternator belt blew and...

Radiator Fan

My radiator fan starts to spin when I turn on my car, but after that it won't spin. Driving on the high way it's fine, but then I get into town and sit at a stop light and she starts to heat up a little.

I've checked all my fuses in the fuse box and didn't have to replace any of them.

Don't let the GT or 2M4 names put any ideas about prestige into your head. We're talking about 20 year old low end cars. The important thing is that you build something you like, learn something from it and can take pride in your work. '85 GT's are aero notchies. There's a lot that's different betw...

Found another one!

I recently found an '85 GT that would be perfect for a 3800 swap. The guy said the engine wasn't getting fuel and he wants $500 for it. Looks like crap but o well. I was wondering if it would be easier to: A. Do the swap then put the GT's old engine in to my 2m4? or B. Sell the 2m4 and buy another G...

I personally don't like the look of carbon fiber. How difficult is fiber glass to shape? About the same as CB?

Fabricating body panels

I'm not really sure if this would be the right place to put this, but it seam to make sense to me. What do you use to fabricate body panels? (interior and exterior). I've heard of people using carbon fiber for the interior (then painting it). But I wasn't sure if that would be advisable to use on th...

yes you can use your 85 as the donor car. That doesnt' matter.

I also have another question. not really motor related. Does everyone use the 88 cradle just to get the 88 suspension? I'm assuming it would be possible to just use my '85 2m4 as the donor car correct?

good engine for the 3.4 swap?

I was walking around the local junk yard looking at various fiero's there. As I was leaving I noticed a 3.4 SFI with the wiring harness on it. It says "96 bad" on it. What that means I don't know. I'm planing on rebuilding what ever engine I get. My second question is this is sitting out i...

Lol... Make me feel stupid... :thumbleft: O well, yes i was talking about a fiero. I just assumed that there was a cable. (I grew up around mustangs). I'll go check the fluid. The reason I asked was because I'm having trouble getting into and out of gear. So, before I went out and got a new clutch, ...
