I've got a couple of things I thought about documenting here. 1) 88 cradle into an 85 GT. I've got all the parts now. I picked up an 88 coupe cradle this summer and I just received the coil overs/adapters and sway bar setup from Held Motorsports the last tuesday. 2) 4 speed muncie rebuild. I own the...

1985 GT: 1) Clutch diaphragm collapsed two weeks after I bought the car. New clutch for free under warranty! 2) 3 alternators, possibly 4. I lost count. All were junkyarders except the 1st, so that's life. 3) Distributor bottom place came off in my hand when I pulled the distributor to replace the o...

What do you have up front, Jeff? You don't want to bump up the spring rate in the rear if you don't also do the front to keep it balanced.. Is this abolute? I know absolutely nothing about setting up handling. I took a guess and went with 350lb springs under the back because of the weight of the mo...

Is it a GRiffin rad? Everything bolt in ok or did you have to modify some things? It looks like I'm gonna ave to run the remote water pump just after the outlet of the rad, so I gotta find room. Also means no lines for a heater core. Shouldn't need one down here anyways. I don't think it's a griffi...

Now that I've figured out I need to replace all the bearings www.drivetrain.com has the rebuild kit for $96.00. edit: I did find a cheaper sourc...

I've found different race pulling tools, but nothing gets up to the 55mm or so in diameter that I need. OTC makes one of the tools--a 'blind puller', basically an expanding cylinder that you can hook up a slide hammer to. Other than that, SnapOn makes one large enough but they want around $1500.00 f...

Muncie bearing extraction/replacement
I've got a 4 spd muncie split open right now. I took the case halves to a local (backwater) transmission shop and they said the bearing races look fine and said don't replace. I'm in the middle of swapping in a ZZ4. And I don't believe them. The transmission has 140,000 miles on it. I put about 80,0...
