Also--but the bearing races in the freezer overnight. It makes it a little easier to knock them into place. Leaving the case out in the sun wouldn't hurt either. Like Will, said--A socket works fine--that's a BIG socket though. Try a square piece of 2 x 4 and tap it into place by dropping a mallet o...

The founding fathers were smart enough to realize an armed society is essential in preserving liberty. I'm against gun control, but do you really believe that? If so, do you also believe it was a mistake to abolish slavery? Why do you think they bought and sold slaves themselves? Don't you think th...

people sitting in congress right now wanted to impeach a president for getting a blowjob. No, they wanted to impeach for LYING about getting a blow job. Politicians hate liars. You know this is going to the Supreme Court. I think they'll overturn. I'll update my original post. Thanks for the correc...

What an impeachable offense looks like

THIS is what an impeachable offense actually looks like. Think about this for a couple of minutes when you consider the same people sitting in congress right now wanted to impeach a president for lying about getting a blowjob. "The President of the United States, a creature of the same Constitu...

This government is playing fear against the bell curve beautifully. What I mean is, they know they can scare just enough people with real or imaginary threats. The first thing scared people do is resist change--they don't want any more uncertainty in their lives than the already have. Anyone notice ...

The trick to those bearing shells is using two very small crowbars--the little nail puller kind.

You use two of them, levering on opposite sides of the bearing shell.

I saw a process where the carbon fiber is really, really thin--floating on top of some liquid.

They submerge the part and pull it up through the film; the film completely conforms to the part.

Obviously not real carbon fiber. More of a giant melting decal.

When did I say every department in America? I said US. That means myself and my colleagues. I can cancel any citation I wrote, though I must explain my reasoning. That shows how truly ignorant you are of law enforcement. "Law Enforcement" means YOU?!?!?! What the fuck? That's over the top...

confused.

I had my mind made up on doing a mega squirt because I could build it without having access to my car.

Now I'm leaning back toward the modded GM stuff.

If you buy Archies kit then you basically only need to follow the directions on his install tape, I imagine its fairly straight forward. Except that he solid mounts the engine and soft mounts the transmission, which is even worse for transmission longevity than solid mounting everything. No, he sol...

My advice is to find an aluminum block and a 3" crank. Build a CHEVY 302... it has the displacement and RPM characteristics more suited to the Fiero. My advice would be to build a 383 stroker, put decent heads and a nice cam, turn higher RPM than the 302, and make A LOT more power. There is no...

Well, I'm going to be separated from my car for awhile and I said to myself self: You need to get rid of the nixon-era edelbrock quadratoilet. I've got a dual TB manifold I bought on ebay that I want to use, but I don't like the GM ecm driving the jumped-together FI. It's an old Turbo City setup. Th...

No, I havn't driven a SBC Fiero... sadly. I understand that my swap would be both difficult and simple at the same time, but what I am looking for is the simplicity of the engine... a straight up 350 Chevy 4 barrel carbed V-8 (which I happen to have sitting in my yard). The other benefit of this sw...
