Re: Coupe/Formula Front End Aero

see, that's the beauty of removing the weatherstripping though, it's so easily reversible, you don't DD at speed great enough to matter do you? remove it for track days, reinstall before leaving the track. Well, AC is kinda nice at the track when its over 100*F outside. I keep forgetting that you r...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Thinking of finding a set of Grand Prix GXP staggered wheels for the car, just for S+G's. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/pontiac-grand-prix-gxp-road-test I'm still surprised GM of all companies is the first (and so far ONLY) company to do a "bulldog stagger" with a high performance F...

It probably makes front end lift WORSE, actually.

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I know you have a working PCM now, but would ti be possible to just swap the crank out for a later crank with the 58x wheel?

my guess it that it may not work due to the location of the sensor though.

progress on the banshee...

I've had a couple of build threads going on the car, so I figured, why not post it here too... the car is a 1985 SE, originally a V6 slushbox. I'm almost done swapping in a 2006 G6 3.5, and a 2001 Sunfire F23. Here's what I started with... http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon262/car%20shi...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Does that have the small diameter mounting barrel like the Fiero brake light switch? The switch/vacuum dump that I replaced with the corresponding unit from the other side had a large diameter mounting barrel. small diameter, but it still fits just fine, and best of all, it was free (off an old par...

I haven't dug too deep into it, but I think there's more to it then that. Tiny tuner doesn't recognize the file type.

Re: bin file 1998 F-body, 3.8L 5 speed

a little update, the Jet software won't save the bin back to anything but a .jcl file, making it worthless without a jet programmer. sucks, because I was looking forward to playing around with it. maybe I can find a used Jet programmer on the cheap.

Re: bin file 1998 F-body, 3.8L 5 speed

after all, everyone does exactly what overbearing government busybody tells them to do, right? exactly what they say! Sounds like you could do some interesting stuff with that PCM. I'm finding that more and more. also, FWIW, Jet's dynamic spectrum tuning software has more tune-able tables th...

Re: Coupe/Formula Front End Aero

here's an old school solution, take the weather stripping off spare tire compartment and cowl. re-install after the race and you're good.

Re: bin file 1998 F-body, 3.8L 5 speed

I'd just leave it and see if it gives you problems. The engine can be at idle/neutral and have idle RPM with zero vehicle speed, OR it can be at idle/1st and have idle RPM with non-zero vehicle speed. In both cases, the clutch is not depressed and throttle % is zero... so there has to be enough lat...

Re: bin file 1998 F-body, 3.8L 5 speed

Do you know how the ratio is calculated? still trying to figure this out... last night, I thought I had it. I was thinking it was simply minimum RPM/Vehicle speed, just as the table lists it, but the numbers don't line up, as the tables are identical between first and second, which wouldn't work ou...
