Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
Does that have the small diameter mounting barrel like the Fiero brake light switch? The switch/vacuum dump that I replaced with the corresponding unit from the other side had a large diameter mounting barrel. small diameter, but it still fits just fine, and best of all, it was free (off an old par...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
The cruise clutch switch and the cruise brake switch have the same diameter mounting. The clutch switch electrical pole and the brake switch TCC pole appear to be identical. The brake switch cruise servo pole would do *EXACTLY* what I need the clutch switch to do for the Shelby computer. It *should...

Re: Spherical bearing upper strut mounts
let me warn you, I know nothing on the black magic of suspension geometry, what I'm about to say is probably a horrible idea. how about running a shorter strut(or just running a regular one slightly compressed), and mounting it to what I will call an inverted table? effectively dropping the top of t...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
Yeah, it annoys the F@#$ out of me sometimes, but that's what GM did. BMW used COP ignitions on their base model 6 cylinder engines starting in '91 or so... Why couldn't GM do that on their top shelf V8? what's weird to me, is that GM will use the same part on 50 different engines, and then on 500 ...

Re: my 3500 intake.
it's an LS1 throttle body, the flange was supposed to be an adapter plate for a 3900 manifold, but the 3500 TB uses the same pattern. A couple of guys are running the N*/LS1 TB, but the neck right behind the TB narrows to about 65mm (stock throttle size) the way I saw it, there was no point in using...

Re: 3x00 rockers
both rockers are almost identical, the LX9 (non VVT) is Stamped, and the LZ4(VVT) is cast. both have a roller trunion, and both trunions are the same diameter and width. Looks like the LX9 base. when I get my heads back from the machine shop, we'll try this again and see how it looks. I think he too...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
any benefit to running the N*coilpack instead of CPC? the programming would be less oddball then wouldn't it, as you could tune it strait up as an "LS1"

Re: 3x00 rockers
I still don't have new pictures of the parts by themselves, but I did install a rocker on my LX9 3500, and it bolts on no problem with the LX9 pedestal swapped on. I didn't turn the engine over to see how the work through the lift curve, when I get the new engine back from the machine shop, I'll do ...

thought I would add too, I saw somewhere someone saying that the 3500 flywheel bolts are a different pitch, I don't remember where I saw it, but they aren't.

Re: Flywheel Bolts for the 60-degree V6
it's been a while since I had looked at it, but it was enough play for me to not like it. I'll break out the calipers and measure the differences in the size of the bolt vs the hole.

Re: Flywheel Bolts for the 60-degree V6
one of my bigger concerns was not the bolt itself, but that the hole in the flywheel for the bolt is much larger than the bolt, effectively allowing the flywheel to shift 10 degrees or so(going by memory on the numbers). I was thinking about having a machine shop make a set of sleeves for a snugger ...

3x00 rockers
I was in the junkyard today and stumbled across a LZ4 in a G6, and I noticed the rocker arms sitting on the bumper, so I grabbed one and brought it home... some of the pics suck, I'll get better ones later... http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon262/car%20shit/fiero/2013-03-29_18-21-35_687...

Re: Flywheel Bolts for the 60-degree V6
Thought I would add, WOT tech ARP bolts Vs GM bolts. Gm=Longer, the last MM or so is tapered on the GM bolt, and useless from a thread engagement standpoint. the threads on the ARP bolt go all the way to the end. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon262/car%20shit/fiero/2013-03-27_23-07-30...

Re: Picked up another ITB intake
Interesting. I acquired a Bridgeport with a nice 3 axis CNC conversion shortly after I got back from Iraq. It's been in storage for a couple of years. The guy keeping it for me has been asking me when I'll do something with it, so that probably should be soon. Fortunately, my garage is almost ready...
