Re: Picked up another ITB intake
the heads are going to need a ton of work to make awesome power levels N/a, you buy that from the guy selling them on 60V6? I thought about picking one up to play with, but I already have too many projects... Edit: if you use a roller cam block, you can get a insane cam now for them, WOT Tech has B...

now that you mention it, I guess I'm putting the carriage in front of the horse... I had done a little research into it, but I had trouble finding real data on it.
do you know? I'm all ears if anyone has any input.

my 3500 intake.
I decided to go crazy on my LX9 intake manifold, figured I would post up a few pics. hopefully I'll be able to get it welded up later this week. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon262/car%20shit/fiero/intake%20mani/17981_590997620912112_894396175_n.jpg http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Rape?
I won't bother with the survey, but *ALL* of those choices are rape. What astonishes me is that there are women who think some of those are ok. As a social problem, rape is a men's issue, not a women's issue. Unfortunately, no one talks about it that way. yeah, that's the way I saw it too, the resu...

Re: bin file 1998 F-body, 3.8L 5 speed
well, right now, I'm looking at several different things, it all stemmed from making a pinout for the 16236757 PCM. that PCM is one of the main obd2 PCM's used for the 60*V6. I was researching what pin to put a clutch switch into if reconfigured for a 5 speed, and found the 1998 F body uses the same...

Rape?
I saw this picture on facebook earlier, and it prompted me to create a survey and see where our country stands as a whole. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon262/rape.jpg here is a link to the survey, if you don't mind, please take the five minutes to answer the questions honestly, I can...

Re: Shifter
both of those are probably what will end up happening. the main reason I see is getting the shifter side packaged into the console would be a PITA.

Re: Shifter
my point in starting the thread was to brainstorm a bit, I haven't driven my current setup yet, hopefully I will get to fire it off for the first time next month. right now, I have Isuzu cables and shifter setup to control a F23 from a 01 sunfire behind a LX9 3500. I built the linkage around the Isu...

Re: Shifter
High end bicycles have hydraulic disk brakes these days... you may be able to borrow some of that tech/parts for the lines, fittings and reservoirs. That will probably be the only way to build this system WITHOUT making it MUCH bulkier than the cables you want to replace. Due to the necessities of ...

Re: Shifter
I was thinking along the lines of keeping the line size almost equal to the piston size, so that there is minimal restriction to flow, and equal size pistons all around. the shift mechanisms aren't very hard to actuate so mechanical advantage won't have to be high

Re: Shifter
Are *YOU* dissatisfied with the Fiero shift quality? If not, why would you build this? It's not an external linkage Muncie, S2000 or Mjata, but for a cable shifter, it's not bad. Go drive a MkII VW Golf if you want a vague shifter... and that's a bar linkage rather than cable. The MR2 Spyder is cab...

Re: Shifter
I wouldn't want to have to bleed it. Besides that, you have other things to consider like how the "pull" motion is going to work. already thought of that, by using a double action cylinder, you gain "pull" capabilities, without adding 4 extra cylinders. basically, put a seal on ...

I always hear complaints about the Fiero's shift quality, and most people attribute that to the long shift cables. Well how about doing away with the cables altogether and going with a hydraulic "linkage"? four small double action cylinders and some lines, wala, smooth precise shifting. Th...

Re: Variable Valve timing.
Yeah, it's a non-issue as long as the piston-to-valve clearance is ok. You are aware that each phaseable cam has to have its own position sensor, right? yes, I am aware, I was thinking about modding a timing cover to accept one. another idea would be to mod the oil pump drive, as it is just a distr...
