Re: 4T60-E Swapped for an 08 4T65-E?

I am installing into my Fiero a 92 3.4DOHC and it has the 4T60-e Transmission. I have a spare 08 Grand Prix w/NA3800 and the 4T65-E trans. Is it worthwhile swapping to the newer Transmission? There are a lot of big changes with that vintage transmission and the 65-e...assuming you get over the hard...

Re: Turbo 3800 fuel system

As far as I know the returnless system is based on Evaporative emissions primarily... I too have never seen data to back up how much heat (from fuel) is placed back into the tank, but I am willing to bet it is not far off from the fuel just sitting in the rail hit soaking either... in any regards, t...

Re: 3800-Turbo Project (1/31 NEW PIC!)

I should quote you for that statement "a boost leak AFTER THE MAF is nothing to worry about anyway"... :) But I will just jazz you about it and leave it at that.. [razz] If your going to do everything else about this project right, why stop and make a IMO significant mistake and not attem...

Darn Ryan glad to still see you around this corner of the woods...lol! Did you ever upgrade the turbo (I remember you were using a stock GN turbo)? Wanted to quickly point out...real time tuning is possible on the (last I heard) 3800 pcm, however I think there is some sort of patent infringement on...

Because of their use in series and their different efficiencies, using a turbo and a roots does NOT involve any synergy. In order for a combination of two effects to be greater than their sum, the combination must involve a net INCREASE in efficiency. This does not happen.... What efficiencies are ...

you cannot use efficiency at least not the secondary unit without any wet experiment!! um, what?....a centrifugal supercharger defeats the purpose of dual charging. they are essentially a belt driven turbo impeller and still take time to spool up. they are more efficient than other superchargers, b...

Synergy exists when two systems follow different paths to accomplish the same goal in a more efficiently than either could alone. When a blower and SC are used in series, the overall system efficiency suffers. This is NOT synergy. I've laid out why the efficiency drops. If you think there's an erro...

"Synergy" doesn't exist when two processes of vastly different efficiencies are trying to accomplish the same goal... Believe me synergy exist with a compound system like this Will, think about it for a second. Disadvantage of both a blower and a turbo are almost removed generally speakin...

Proportionately, the pressure difference accross the blower remains the same regardless of how much boost you're feeding into it... so its still going to "leak" just as much (well, maybe even worse since the absolute pressure difference is greater).. Seemingly...based on this then we shou...

...The SC is mechanically driven off the crankshaft. This means that it always tries to overfeed the engine by the same amount. It doesn't matter if it's being fed by air that's 14.7 psia or 34.7 psia. It will try to increase the pressure of that air by the amount the S/C's volume flow rate exceeds...

never compare a remote to a traditional setup...two different ideologies...period. Most ppl use the V8 sts as a base for argument, it doesn't work that way. A remote setup works, but you will loose the bigger picture if all you care is about pk hp. Now on the other hand, a remote in a fiero changes ...

Agree with series...there is room for it, but ultimately is the work worth the effort...maybe not for a streetcar!!??!? The back of the fiero is a very low pressure area...and for this to work, the front of the intercooler should be the 'higher pressure area'...you need as much air hitting the IC as...

My friend then we are saying the same thing in fact...look at how long tuners have used Obd1 compliants systems...then look how long obd2 compliant systems have been decoded in regards to performance...concurrently obd2 'reprogramming' is still infantile...are you telling me when GM are tunning thei...

I read in a book a while back, Forced Induction Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell, that you can build the system to where you don't need a BOV. The BOV's purpose is to bleed boost when you're not on the throttle so that the turbocharger doesn't have resistance and keeps its RPMs up for when you ...
