Re: Covid Restrictions
My last shop with a mask rule ended theirs last week. They were going off of local hospital/infection numbers. If places ask for one, I wear one. That being said, shortly after my kids got vaccinated, I was pretty much over it. I feel I've done my part and at least in North America, everybody has ha...

updating stoich to reflect e10 fuel that's everywhere down here. If I'm reading correctly, please don't do this, it just adds confusion potential. It's an oxygen sensor; stoich is going to be 1.0 Lambda regardless of the fuel you're using. If your gauge is set up for a gasoline scale, "14.7&qu...

Re: alternator pullies.
What alternator are you currently using? I have an alternator off of a ~2003 chevy astro 4.3, but that alternator frame interchanges, or is very similar to a huge number of GM alternators AD230 If you're changing out anyway, what about fitting a DR44? Do you have an extra PWM output on your MS3? Ma...

I ordered a filter magnet, who knows when it will be here, but when it does I'll run the engine a bit, swap the filter, cut it open and see what I find. I have an 1800 lb pull magnet in the shop, but I thought that may crush the filter... lol. Magnetic oil plug from an LS car is a nice addition as ...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Not being able to adjust the frequency on the Eastwood unit would be damn frustrating trying to go to lap joints. I found lowering the frequency and running a little more tungsten stick out worked great to control the heat and get an even burn in on the plates. Someone more experienced will need to...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Yeah, the scattering is a pain with the green for me as well. I’ve read that it works better on a transformer type machine.

Right now just using the green tip out of the box.. Acetone... check I'm using the recommended settings on top of the unit for 1/8" aluminum plate practice coupons.. The green works but it’s a little frustrating to use, especially if you’re new. https://www.amazon.com/Lanthanated-Welding-Tungs...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Used a stainless only brush in only one direction then alcohol but I gather from your question that I need to wire wheel it to really get it clean... :) Acetone, not alcohol. If the aluminum has ever seen oil (especially cast) you need to wash it, then cook the remaining oil out with a propane torc...

I took apart the L21 454 that "lost compression" the crank looked ok, I may have it turned, or just polish it. the pistons on the other hand... someone ran nitrous on this thing, there's no other way you see this kind of devastation... I don't know how, but the bores are somehow ok still....

Looks like you don't have plumbing in the garage, so you won't have to keep the heat on 24/7 to keep things from freezing. ******************************************************************************** I know that attics are often left open with air circulating and the roof deck assuming ambient ...

Re: The others
The heater showed up this week. Too cold to really do anything with it just yet. 1B680F64-4A6E-4535-92FC-53F33A9093ED.jpeg C3E792AE-AB7D-4555-8196-C6034B472374.jpeg Looks sort of like this when installed. A number of shops I go into have this style and they’re happy with the performance and economy....
