Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
Here is the pod with the carbon fiber on top. I still have to sand it when it dries and apply several coats of resin to smooth it out and give it that glass-like appearance. It takes about a day in between coats of resin so this will take a while. I love the appearance of carbon fiber even when it i...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
So tonight I spent quite a while building the form for my speaker pods for the doors. I created the frame using MDF and coated the entire unit with mylar to make sure that the fiberglass would release. I then need to flip the form over and make one for the passenger side door. Here is a pic of the f...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
Tonight, it was time to finish the red pinstripe and carpet the lower portion of the door. The first thing was to mark the cut with a chalk pencil and them cut the material. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/373493890.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/373493...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
Shit, I sure let this thread die. Here is a quick update since I have been away from the project for a while. The quarter window with hardware installed as well as the tail light panel cleared: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/373060668.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/829...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
Here is the taillight section sitting over my light box. I still need to remove some of the black laminate from the inside portions but they look almost stock......with a twist http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/355780693.jpg My next update will probably add another page of photos ...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
I had a brand new set of Fiero Store GT lenses that I sold because I was going to hack them up so I bought a delam set from a member. The plan is to move the "Pontiac" upwards and add "IMSA" underneath. When I received the lenses, I helped the delaminating process along. http://p...

Re: IMSA GT Build Thread
Just a quick update. I finished the crest on the roof and really don't like it because I had to paint on the glass which will eventually all scratch off. This is the only part of the car that I will actually use a true decal. I have chrome vinyl for the outline and red for the inlay. It will also be...

Quick update. Right now, all the clean up work and re-assembly is being done. I still have to spray the rear molding red, spray the door handles and side marker lights red, order the wheels and tires, and finish the rear vents, and install the new windshield. The car has an intercoat clearcoat just ...

Sorry about the lack of updates. I have been on a business trip to Arizona and painting a few Harleys for some friends of mine. So I layed out the decal stencils for the rear logos and airbrushed them. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/349130437.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/V...

Since I just got back into town after a business trip, I focused on one of the parts that had to be made from scratch. I removed the vinyl trim around the windshield and made the windshield hold downs tonight. Here is what I started with.....aluminum stock: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/829962...

I am starting on the white right now and may post more later tonight or tomorrow. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL82/8299626/15490570/341592340....

I was thinking about your build last night, was about to PM. Glad you are better. Keep the build going. Refresh my memory, is this car getting a 3800 n/a? That is what I will be going for later on but since I live in California, I have to deal with the smog bullshit and West Coast Fieros is the mai...

Everything that Rodney Dickman uses is American made. Wrong--All his suspension parts are from Taiwan. Last time I checked Taiwan was not in the US. Most all the parts you buy for the Fiero are going to be made outside the US. Also you cant always judge a product on what others say. There is always...
