a little closer to $1000 per wheel
Possibly, I think a little less than that, but they're a couple miles down the road from me and I'd save on the postage. :thumbleft:

For a given engine, the relationship for VE and torque MUST be linear... Why does it have to be linear? Nothing else in the universe is. however, the other factors that affect it are ignition advance, compression ratio and rod length, to name a few... And there you are. Include also variability in ...

That's EXACTLY what I was talking about!
Even down to the dyno operator ready to pull the plug!

Here's a pic of my portable dyno at home-- :bootyshake:

This is how you do it. Take your engine, or car to the appropriate dyno. Not an inertial dyno, a real dyno, that holds the engine at a fixed RPM under load. Hook up the intake side to a mass airflow meter. Run the engine up to the specific RPM point that you're interested in, at full throttle. Start...

A chargecooler IS difficult to fit to a Fiero, no doubt about that. I have in hand a PWR barrel type chargecooler (390 CFM), and have bought and am waiting for some Samco preformed hoses that I think will work. The chargecooler would replace the short double "S" bend tube that came with th...

Mind you, I'm not slamming anybody's final choices. Only YOU know what it is that you want out of a turbo installation. Some of the cheap "showcase turbos" on those sites were pretty damn big.... --In my case, I prize a quick spool-up time more than anything else. I was merely trying to po...

Those big turbos look like they'd be pretty laggy on the street. Very unpleasant even. 60 lbs/hr? sheesh! That's what, about 600 HP? I still think if you bought the BEST OPTIONED, street oriented, low lag turbo for a medium boost Fiero it'd run about $2.500. As an example, for another car, I purchas...

A beast on the pocket book I'm sure.
Especially if you go to something like ceramic ball bearings so it'll spool up reasonably.
MY guess is $2,500 clams for a BB version.

At work we have a separate stress anaylist group to give our designs a good looking over. They look at the design from a variety of viewpoints--uploads, downloads, fore and aft loads, CRASH loads, loads from multiple angles, vibration loads, fatigue, abuse, etc. the important thing is that they have...

A bit more detail for the "G" number stuff-- from "Race Car Chassis- Design and Construction" by Forbes Aird. Assume 3G bump loadings in combination with 1G cornering load, or 3G bump in combi' with 1G braking, etc. Multiply it by 2 for a safety factor, and you get about 6Gs. Che...

If I remember right (and I do...), read a book on chassis design, the author said that people were designing spring mounts and other chassis bits to approx. 6 Gs. But if the spring and shock were coaxial, the loads would double. The shocks really put a huge load into the frame. Steering component lo...

Howdy, first post here. I'm the same Gixxer (PRICK) I was back at Old Europe. To get to the heart of what (I think) your question was......... I believe the Fiero has a fair amount of scrub radius effect in the front end. This makes the car steer easily at slow speeds and gives the car a large amoun...
