New PB in the 1/4
Took the car out to the track tonight to get in some runs and see what it would do. Was shooting for 11s being my last time to the track I was hitting 12.4s with 6* of KR. Ran the best of 12.0 @ 110 MPH with a 1.6 60' and ran 4 other times with all of them being 12.1s @ 110 MPH. The weather was about 55* or so and the track was hooking well for me with the MTs on the back. Should be able to dip into the 11s once I upgrade the brakes so I can stall the car up for the launch and take out a little fuel(running a little rich). Overall was a good night, several people where suprised with the car and had several comment on it thru out the night. I drove the car 2 hours to the track, made my runs and then drove it 2 hours back with no problems. I forgot my camera so I dont have any video of the runs, I am hoping someone else out there took a video of it and I can find it.

Awesome runs, man.
What's the rest of your suspension setup like?
It's great that Fieros launch on street tires the way everybody else launches on DR's and they launch on DR's the way everybody else launches with slicks, isn't it?
What year is your car? If it's an 84-87, you can swap the front hub carriers from an A-body (Celebrity, 6000, Ciera, Century) with HD brakes into the rear of your car and get bigger CV's, bigger bearings and bigger brakes (10.5 x 1 with MUCH bigger calipers than stock) all at once.
That gives you a bigger hub pattern, so it may not be the best thing to do if you've spent money on 5x100 wheels, but GM put 16x8 wheels for the bigger pattern on Grands Prix.

Was really hoping to get into the 11s but will settle with the 12.0 that I ran that night. I mean cant complain about a 12.0 daily driver that gets 25-28 MPG and is realiable. Once I get the brakes upgraded and little more practice on the tree, 11s will come . The best part of the night was getting seveal comments on how fast the car was and putting down better times then alot more expensive cars that where there.

Umm thanks. Mine is one of the quickest ET wise but my mph isn't great.Shaun41178(2) wrote:good runs man. very close to 11's. Quicker then oreifs v8 too which is supposedly the king of the v8 fieros.
Good runs mang.
But its only attributed because I got a great launch. 1.7 60 ft on my 12.3 run. A 2.0 or so would only net me a 12.8 or so. On the street which is unprepped unlike a dragstrip, I can't launch as hard so its prob closer to a low 13.
On the street your v6 would easily beat my v8 setup and according to shaun and the qtr mile list, it is pretty much the quickest documented v8 other then Tina but she cheats by using nitrous. Bottles are for babies
