no, it's from an iron head, but it's a 7730 because it controls the EGR valve electronically, that's the giveaway. I have the entire wiring harness, and if you have the PROM chip and the cal-pak, as we used to call them in the early '90s, then it shouldn't matter, if I'm not too much mistaken. But you should probably check with Ryan aka Sinister, first. If it'll work, then how about $20 plus you pay shipping?

The ECM can interface with your VSS with no mods. Your 2 ECM pigtails are the same as 2 of the 3 plugs on the 7730. You'll need to either cut/solder or re-pin the 7730 plugs with your wires in a different order (been said easier to re-pin). Sinister has diagrams free on his site. Your tach however either needs to run off the VSS or can be run off the ECM with a simple adapter circuit (diagram also free from sinister).

What the hell is wrong with GM? How is every ECU so different? The 3.4 DOHC and 3.1 ECUs are nearly identical, and yet the VSS shit is different. On the 3.4, 91-93, you need to cross the VSS wires. You don't need to do this for the 7730?lucky80 wrote:The ECM can interface with your VSS with no mods. Your 2 ECM pigtails are the same as 2 of the 3 plugs on the 7730. And then I crossed the VSS wires for my 94-95 PCM, and the speedo doesn't work.
As for the tach, you don't need to do any of that. Out of the coil pack, there is a tach feed, it will be white. This goes directly to C3 on the C500 for the tachomoter.

Wow. Duh, I meant speedo. The Dark Side of Will wrote:Umm... say what? :thumbleft:lucky80 wrote:Your tach however either needs to run off the VSS
EDIT: IIRC the 7730 will interface with either the Hall Effect pickup in the dizzy or the crank sensor on the later blocks to run DIS. As far as speedo, supposedly the VSS has a beige and a purple (IIRC) wire that run to the speedo. You end up connecting the beige wire to the ECM and the speedo, and disconnecting the purple wire from the speedo and connecting it to the ECM. OR you connect the 2 wires to the ECM and build the interface circuit to control the speedo via the ECM so you can recalibrate it via the MEMCAL, instead of by changing the VSS gear.
