so someone hates me.
I couldn't have guessed.

In other news, my Fiero is sitting in my driveway, doors unlocked, and I have to drive it to work tomorrow morning. I'm pretty confident I won't have any problems.

Just means no one's got the balls to do anything. Or that I don't piss off the wrong people.

like others have said change your oil and flush it out.

Seriously man I bet it was from all the rain we had here in florida. 30 inches in some places. That TS produced a ton of rain.

You had your decklid off. I guarantee it was the rain.

Don't tear it down. THe motor is fine. Drain it out. run fresh oil, drain it and run more fresh oil. It will be ok.

UIts $30 in oil or thousands to tear it down. Just try adding oil and getting the water out of it before spending thousands. If not for you, do it for me.

Because apparently rain can get through a watertight system.

Weird, I washed my car and engine the other day, with a pressure washer nonetheless, and my oil looks fine.

maybe his system wasn't watertight. No way for you to really know since you weren't there right?

We had rain coming in sideways last week. I don't know anything about it since I live in florida and everything.

I guess I just assumed it would be considering how much better it is than mine, and mine's watertight.

take your decklid off, leave the motor not running, pay a bum to squirt high pressure water at your engine for 3 days straight without stopping from all directions.

Then get back to me.

Why would I take my decklid off? My swap fits under it just fine.

My car works perfect in the environment it's placed in, which is, ironically, one of the most demanding for automobiles you can find in the US.

we are talking about being watertight.

So take it off, or leave it open and pay someone to spray water from a hose over it for 3 days. You want to do that? I know you won't, because even you don't trust how watertight you claim it to be.

It seems to handle a few feet of snow just fine, so, I'll take my chances.

haha, system is water tight. not to concerned. everything for the rebuild will be shipped tuesday if in stock. car wasn't exposed to the storm. no to concerned. i'd be willing to bet my car knocking is faster then yours :P i keep my deck lid off because this is a new deal to me so i want easy access at all times. i'm always finding stuff to move or change the more i look at it.

i'm not concerned. i have a pretty good idea who did it. he's just trying to get even with me for making him look like a bitch in front of his g/f. :)

Seriously, why not just try using new oil and seeing what happens? Whats the worst that would happen? it would run for 5 minutes and quit? Or run for 20k more miles as is?

I would try as well. As bulletproof as you say the 3800 is, this shouldn't be that hard on it. There are a lot of motors that can run for some time without any oil at all, and once oil is added, have no lasting affects.

well i think i found some clues!!!

does anybody else think that looks like washer fluid? found some bits of aluminum in the pan. so it's coming apart.

btw arron. just because a motor can take hp doesn't mean it can run on water. that's a pretty ignorant statment.

My oil looks a lot better than that.

If you're going to piss people off, at least protect your stuff. Maybe that means building your motor to fit under the decklid. Mine does.

Billybo, drain your oil, get drunk, and go out and crank it over for 20 minutes, then add oil, and say its fine. Then brag houw your setup deals with the harshest environments in the USA.
