In other news, my Fiero is sitting in my driveway, doors unlocked, and I have to drive it to work tomorrow morning. I'm pretty confident I won't have any problems.

like others have said change your oil and flush it out.
Seriously man I bet it was from all the rain we had here in florida. 30 inches in some places. That TS produced a ton of rain.
You had your decklid off. I guarantee it was the rain.
Don't tear it down. THe motor is fine. Drain it out. run fresh oil, drain it and run more fresh oil. It will be ok.
UIts $30 in oil or thousands to tear it down. Just try adding oil and getting the water out of it before spending thousands. If not for you, do it for me.
take your decklid off, leave the motor not running, pay a bum to squirt high pressure water at your engine for 3 days straight without stopping from all directions.
So take it off, or leave it open and pay someone to spray water from a hose over it for 3 days. You want to do that? I know you won't, because even you don't trust how watertight you claim it to be.
haha, system is water tight. not to concerned. everything for the rebuild will be shipped tuesday if in stock. car wasn't exposed to the storm. no to concerned. i'd be willing to bet my car knocking is faster then yours i keep my deck lid off because this is a new deal to me so i want easy access at all times. i'm always finding stuff to move or change the more i look at it.
i'm not concerned. i have a pretty good idea who did it. he's just trying to get even with me for making him look like a bitch in front of his g/f.
my fiero is faster then yours. the end. except you fieroX
Seriously, why not just try using new oil and seeing what happens? Whats the worst that would happen? it would run for 5 minutes and quit? Or run for 20k more miles as is?
I would try as well. As bulletproof as you say the 3800 is, this shouldn't be that hard on it. There are a lot of motors that can run for some time without any oil at all, and once oil is added, have no lasting affects.

Billybo, drain your oil, get drunk, and go out and crank it over for 20 minutes, then add oil, and say its fine. Then brag houw your setup deals with the harshest environments in the USA.
