Fuel pressure regulator??

Post by fierogt28 »

Just wondering for general knowledge, how do you adjust the fuel pressure regulator on a V6 fiero??
There's a little screw on top, but with way do you turn it to make the pressure high and lower?
BTW, it looks hard to adjust since the screw is closely under the plenum.
This is a "hypertech" brand pressure regulator if that helps.

I rather ask here instead of poop-cocks due to risk of different recommendtions from
fiero "beginers".

Thanks,

I can't tell you how to do it, but may I ask why you want to?

Well, basically I think that you need to take off the plenum and turn the key on to activate the fuel pump. They turn the screw until the correct pressure or desired pressure you want. (this is with all fuel components connected)

I have a gauge on the fuel rail, so I can monitor the pressure closely.

Is that right??

BTW, 42psi is the correct pressure on a stock 2.8??

Thanks,

I think turning it clockwise will raise the pressure, and counter will loser the pressure.

38-42 psi is fine for a 2.8. I run my setup at 42.

Ya, shaun's right. Clockwise is higher. I dunno if hypertech recommends the same as holley, but in the instructions that came with holley's they said to adjust it without vacuum to the regulator. My car was ~38psi at idle before I started screwing with things.

According to the Haynes manual, fuel pressure should be 40.5 - 47.0 PSI with the engine off.
