have to make a sheet metal bracket for the cable - it has a throttle cam facing the drivers side - should be pretty easy to fab up once i make a template

and yes the black half is the top portion - its already removable - comes right off, i just haven't drilled the mounting holes for it yet - may be able to wrap up the intake in the next two days - then paint and mount my valve covers and start tuning

may as well mention that since I was informed that copper reacts to petroleum products.. I spent the money for the fitting and braided stainless hose to replace the 1/2" copper flex hardline I used for my oil return line

Just a question. Is the top near the TB rigid enough so you don't need any bolts to help hold it down under boost?

Don't know how the math works out, but that looks to be atleast 12" long and 6" wide, that makes it 72 square inches. If you run 10psi worth of boost, wouldn't that exert 720lbs of pressure on the top side of the intake?

yeah - the front edge is about 3/8" thick - it should hold up fine.. I've been thinking about doing a pressure test on it using my air compressor and slowly stepping up the psi looking for flex and any sign of cracking

Sounds kinda dangerous... Wear a face shield and welding gloves...

If anything fails, I think it would fail at the metal interface.

wasn't planning on testing it more than a couple psi over what i plan to run in boost

but yeah - safety is always a priority

Yah I'd definately test it. Even if it leaks, a minor air leak believe it or not isn't that big of a deal, except the sound would be annoying. It'd probly seal under vacuum anyways.

May I suggest a Fiero GT (If GT applicable) badge on it? I know Rodney, or the Fiero Store, sells an adhesive logo that looks good.

it'll seal, definately work great NA - only a question of durability under boost

I don't think i'll have the word fiero anywhere on my car

i've been toying with the idea of making the top portion carbon fiber (vinyl at first anyways, making a mold for the real thing would be costly)

made the throttle cable bracket last night -
bolted the intake in place - stll have to fab the breather and vacuum lines, and repaint a few blue parts

I caught myself saying "WOW" out loud after that pic. DAAAAAMMMNN! That looks awesome on the motor. Bad-ass! Don't you love the twin rear valve covers? Can't wait til I make my intake to show mine off too.
