I'm not a big fan of any retro look. It's sort of like if they can't do the body style just about exactly like the original, why pose?
That said, I don't thinkt he Camaro looks so bad - the front end needs some "de-modernization" if they're going to run with the retro. I like the upturned spoiler on the back and even the Corvette like double bubble cockpit style too.

huh I can't believe my ears, try MUSTANG! j/k but seriously ford did pretty much start the retro muscle car thing, now everybody else wants in.So far Dodge has the best looking retro car imo.
I know i'm gonna get flamed for this but I'm gonna do it anyway :la:

but was there an earliar version of the prowler? I was thinking more along the lines of making famous muscle cars look more like the originals, not creating a new age hotrod.I think chrysler started it with the Prowler in the 90s.
Yah I meant that I thought the mustang was the best looking retro and that ford was the first to start the retro muscle car thing (I think the thunderbird qualifies as a muscle car, well at least it used to ).[/quote]And before the Mustang there was the retro Thunderbird.

If Ford had put the supercharged mod-motors into the T-bird and Marauder, they might have actually sold some.
But instead they built a soft, slow, nostalgic boulevard cruiser that the guys old enough to have nostalgia about remember being a Corvette competitor, and a Mercury boat that's slower than an 8 year old Chevy with 50 fewer HP (Impala SS).

I would say that you don't have to remake a certain car to call it retro but I understand what you are talking about.
The Prowler is retro in the same way the PT Cruiser is.
Prowler is still one of the sexiest cars ever made. Everytime I see one on the road it looks... just awesome.

Until you remember that it's got a V6, comes with automatic transmission only and has the chassis stiffness of a wet noodle.crzyone wrote: Prowler is still one of the sexiest cars ever made. Everytime I see one on the road it looks... just awesome.
Wonder if anyone's putting new Hemi's into Prowlers...

But it looks soooooooo bad ass. I always stop and stare when one drives by. It surely wont defeat a Fiero in the twisties, but 250 hp with an auto ain't bad for a cool car to cruise around in.The Dark Side of Will wrote:Until you remember that it's got a V6, comes with automatic transmission only and has the chassis stiffness of a wet noodle.crzyone wrote: Prowler is still one of the sexiest cars ever made. Prowler weighs 2800lbs with 253hp 255lb/ft. I imagine they go pretty good with just the 3.5 sohc V-6. There are also supercharger kits for the Prowler as well. The Dark Side of Will wrote:Until you remember that it's got a V6, comes with automatic transmission only and has the chassis stiffness of a wet noodle.crzyone wrote: Prowler is still one of the sexiest cars ever made. Not a car I would think was designed for super performance, just a wicked cruising car.
