Just curious, what kind of performance will you get out of a stock quad 4 HO in a fiero, such as 1/4 mile times, and what kind of weight distribution are we talking (what does the engine weigh in at, compared to the stock 2..

I believe the engine is about the same weight or less than the 2.5L.
I havent had mine to the track yet. But a Quad 4 in a front wheel drive (poor grip) Olds Calais does the 1/4 in 14.7 seconds. Which is the 190HP W41 model, but I think Grand Am's and other HO Quad cars were doing the 1/4 in high 14's, and low 15's, trapping at mid 90MPH speeds.
This is what my fairly stock 86 Base coupe weighs:
Front: 550KG (1212/5Lbs)
Rear: 760KG (1675.5Lbs)
Both: 1290KG (2843.9Lbs)
I had 2/3 of a tank of gas, 50 lbs of tools in the trunk, and another 20lbs of other stuff. All my spare and jack and stuff, me in the car (160 lbs), and the battery is in the stock location. Car has a Dodge Shadow spoiler, power trunk release, no power windows or mirrors or A/C, aftermarket power door locks (~2lbs), and a sunroof. Almost forgot, I have a 5-speed Getrac 282.

As for wheel horsepower in a Fiero, a guy on P.F.F. dyno'd his rebuilt HO in his indy, posted the dyno chart, and got 166WHP, with no A/C, and basically the exact same as me for the drivetrain.

mid-low mid 14's in a fiero probably. That 14.7 hasnt been acomplished by any other w41 driver, since motortrend made the claim. The car that they drove, was not a W41, even though the article was on the w41, it seems gm gave them a modded quad 442. Possibly a c41 prepped calais.

Get a low output if you plan to boost. They are 160HP, and 155 torque, but have 9.5:1 compression. A high output, like what I have is 10.1:1 stock.
The difference is in the pistons, the low outputs are dished. The other differences that the HO has are:
lightened flywheel
under drive crank pulley
bigger injectors
more aggressive ECM tuning
lumpier cams
different intake and exhaust manifolds (early models, later models shared same manifolds from LO to HO)
A HO can take boost, but only up to like 5 PSI because of the high compression.
